![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I bought a Focus ST and noticed that they gave me a Japanese or British version since the steering wheel is on the (wrong) right side. It is strange because they actually build (or built) the ST version right here in Germany a few miles from where I live. I have the steering on the right hand side in Japanese cars, but on the (correct) left side in German and US cars. Does anyone have a Focus ST and can confirm the steering side please? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Steering on the left is the wrong? side, Dango ![]() My real world Focus has the steering on the drivers side, where it should be ------------------ [This message has been edited by Sukerkin to fix danged brackets (edited 01-01-2011).] [This message has been edited by Sukerkin (edited 01-01-2011).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() LOL, I knew that was going to happen, Marc. They also drive the wrong way around in Britain (clockwise) in traffic circles, right? IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Funny, the Little Nut jumped all over that about the Focus, too. He also remarked about them being made in Germany, which impressed me, as I didn't recall that, myself. Apparently, that little bit of trivia lodged itself in his head from an episode of Top Gear. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() :grins: Aye, we drive on the left (correct) side of the road and go around round-a-bouts in a clockwise direction. How most of the rest of the world got this wrong I cannot fathom ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I came across 2 more: Peugeot 207 GTi ‘07 and Fiat 500 1.2 8V Lounge SS ‘08. Which, on a side note, means that I like these cars and FFs seem to be no longer a pain in the butt to drive. They are actually quite fun. What about you Brits, does the Volkswagen Golf IV GTI ‘01 have the wheel on the left or on the right side? (The real question, of course, is whether there are different versions or if we all get British Fiats.) IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The serious answer, leaving jokes to one side, is that all cars in this country are right-hand drive <u>unless</u> they are imports - those are usually American cars as, unlike the Germans and the Japanese, the Yanks seems to have an aversion to making different versions of their cars. The odd thing is, of course, that nearly all 'race' cars are left-hand drive (or at least the ones in the series I've seen). ------------------ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In Great Britain you drive on the left-hand side of the road and yield right-of-way to traffic which is on your right. When you come to a roundabout you must yield right-of-way to traffic which is on your right. That's the traffic on the roundabout. In many countries where you drive on the right-hand side of the road, you still yield right-of-way to traffic which is on your right. When you come to a roundabout, which may be termed a traffic circle, a special kludge is needed to say you yield right-of-way to traffic which is on the roundabout. Or else the roundabout would get jammed. [This message has been edited by SportWagon (edited 03-07-2011).] IP: Logged |
