Weren't we supposed to like... Do stuff to prevent this from happening again after the last one?

So how long until the theory gets kicked around that the US shot down this one as well as the Malaysian Air flight?

I don't know but Asia isn't having much luck with its planes this year. Third one that's been lost.

And it seems that they inexplicably called off the search until day break. :erm: Shouldn't they be like... Searching as much as possible in the first hours?

Mark my words, a week from now we're going to see a big scandal about how botched the search was in the first hours after it disappeared.

-First one was a freak accident.
-Second one was an act of war NATO chose to ignore.

I don't know how they're related.

Is it crazy to look for patterns in random occurrences, or crazy not to?

We have no idea what happened to the first one. It hasnt been found.

The second was an act of war.

this one? Until its found we won't know. Though i saw a report that the flight requested an odd routing before its disappearance.

The second was likely an accident that tends to happen when you don't follow International Law on air and missile warfare and you fly a plane through a war zone without notifying both sides as to the exact path, providing both transponder and radio frequency. Airline was culpable.

The first one still hasn't been found AFAIK, so inconclusive at this point.

Must be some serious ufo wormhole activity going on in that area of the world.

Apparently they have full radar coverage where it disappeared, what they didn't say is whether it went off scope due to low altitude (crash) or break up.

Interesting to note that AirAsia is headquartered in... Malaysia.

But at least they don't disappear completely.

Flying is still statistically the safest way to travel, by a lot.

True, it just makes the headlines more quickly than other forms of travel.

Most human beings are terribly bad at risk assessment because they go on emotion and anecdotal evidence rather than logical analysis and statistics.

You could put a lot of things that people have irrational fear of juxtaposed with lots of things that they don't fear but should.

Not good, bodies being recovered from the water.
