Yeah, the Fiat dealer a little north of here had a 4C in back in August. Nice looking car.

Just out of curiosity, did they ever sell the 8C here? The 4C is a great car, but that 8C... :o

Yes, Maserati dealers sold it since A) there were no Alfa dealers at that point, and B) it was basically a Maserati underneath anyway.

Does anyone else get a stirring whenever they see the 4C like I do. God damn, that is one sexy car.

Oh yes. I can't wait to see the new 4C Spider in the flesh... er, metal... er, carbon.

Not as much as I do when I look at an Elise. :D

I'd rather have the 8c

Well yeah, and I'd rather have a McLaren F1 but I'm not sure what that has to do with a $55,000 car. :)

Depreciation?

I'd take the 4C. Everything I read about the 8C was that it actually wasn't very good, whereas the 4C is.

Yeah, the 8C makes a wonderful sound and my god is it pretty, but all the reviews say it wasn't all that good dynamically.

Wait, people drive the 8C?

I refuse to own a "turbo sports car" that doesn't offer a true manual.

Screw context! I'd rather have unlimited money and the power to create any machine at any time which could do whatever I want!! SUCK ON THAT, BRO

The Alfa dealer cracks me up. They think the Launch Edition is something special and they've ADM'd it all the way up to $90k. Even better, the sales manager emailed with "good news," a $1300 a month lease with some huge down payment.

I told them to "let me know when you have the standard car in stock, because presumably at that point you'll actually want to sell one."

Truth be told, if I were to seriously consider getting one, it won't be until I have the Challenger paid off, which is about a year away. Besides, I want the Spider. :D

The drop in gas prices probably hasn't been good to Fiat dealers exclusively selling 500s, so they need to try to make it up somewhere ;)

The Fiat/Alfa dealer in Chicago has addressed that by also becoming a Yamaha franchise.

Does the 4C have adjustable seats or are they bolted to the chassis?

adjustable, even the passenger side.

So what's the thoughts on 4C vs Cayman GT4? Similar price, better engine, no paddle shifters.

Porsche all the way. Unless I had a collection, and for some reason could only have one of these two. The Alfa has the sex appeal and uniqueness, but beyond that, give me the German.

no paddle shifters.

I love the 4C, but if I was buying a car like that paddle shifters just wouldn't do. Definitely the Cayman.

Cayman, proper sportscar, no midget-like toy.

KillerB

Similar price? The GT4 is priced liked the fully-loaded Launch Edition, but the standard 4C is $55k, on par with a base Cayman. In that case I'd go 4C, though admittedly they are very different cars.

Why split the difference with the 4C? Get an Elise AND a Cayman GT4. Or if you're totally insane, get a Cayman GT4 AND a supercharged Exige.

Why getting a Lotus, any Lotus, when you already have a proper Porsche? I suppose it's pistonheads logic.

"It's not a proper Porsche; the engine is in the wrong place." -- 911 fanatics

Because Lotuses are more hardcore than Porsches?

Fuck 911 fanatics. Caymans look like beauties, proper Porsches. 911s look like overburden fat obsolete cars.
Fuck hardcore. I want to drive a proper sportcar, not a cranky cramped useless go kart.

That's about the wrongest thing I've ever read on the internet.

Freude am Fahren

Really? I like 911's still, so I disagree with them being obsolete. But they are fat. And the Cayman is probably a better sports car.
