You might have noticed that Steam has a heap of Star Wars games on sale this week.
Just a heads up: if you're interested in X-Wing Alliance, get it from gog.com instead.
The reason for this is that there's a strong mod community around the game at http://www.xwaupgrade.com/ who have spent a lot of time updating the visuals for XWA for the original/GOG release. But the Steam version is slightly modified to the old game and the mods won't work. You can read about it at the link.
XWA is fucking excellent and very worthy of purchase.
I'm also looking at picking up Republic Commando, Jedi Knight 2 and 3, and Battlefront 2.
And I was hoping for some sweet deals on Star Wars Lego sets but the cupboard is bare, unfortunately. The UCS TIE Fighter is now available but if I bought that I'd have to get an X-Wing as well, so I'm staying away.
