Season seems to be gaining momentum

Fitst off, Luca spills the beans (http://www.repubblica.it/sport/formulauno/2015/05/05/news/montezemolo_tifo_sempre_ferrari_questa_rossa_e_nat a_dalla_staffetta_tra_noi_e_il_team_marchionne_-113551784/)

Some things he says, Mateschitz is pursuing an Audi buyout for his team. Arrivabene is a strong personality, Vettel's kind of a family kid and their personalities go well together; Sebastian works hard but Maurizio really has the horse by the bridle.

Then McLaren's new livery.

And there should be plenty of aero upgrades for the midfield to shake things up.

Tired of getting mistaken for Force Indias? And not just for their speed.

The Blogsphere seems to think that the livery was designed for TV, with panning shots in mind; and thus why it ain't look good in pitchers.

The Trossos have hints of race pace and now with grid position, maybe James Key's car can deliver.

Wow. Torro Rosso is stomping on Red Bull. They run the same engine now.

Bottas is pretty close to Vettel.

WTF Kimi almost a second slower than Vettel?

Lotus should have used the two pronged nose from last year for the Mad Max car.

Best of luck to the BBC (https://twitter.com/GrandPrixDiary/status/597396163764060161) putting together a highlights show for this. Five minutes should do it and get straight on to Antiques Roadshow.

Good news, it's now (https://twitter.com/wtf1couk/status/597398354977513473) a year until there's another F1 race at Circuit de Catalunya #F1

It was kind of amazing how long Vettel was able to hold off Hamilton but once Hamilton got ahead, he went away like it was nothing.

Performance of the race to the front jack guy at lotus. Gets smashed off his feet with a blow to the wedding tackle, never lets go of the jack so he lands flat on his face and still retains focus to get the car lifted. Awesome effort.

Spanish GP: Tear-off caused Fernando Alonso's McLaren brake issue
By Ian Parkes Monday, May 11th 2015, 11:23 GMT

McLaren racing director Eric Boullier has raised concerns about the disposal of Formula 1 visor tear-off strips after a freak incident caused the end of Fernando Alonso's Spanish Grand Prix.
Alonso was forced to retire with a brake issue, resulting in "a scary moment" as he overshot his pit box, sending the front jack flying.
The cause has now been confirmed by Boullier as a tear-off strip that lodged in the right-rear brake duct, blocking the air intake and so boiling the fluid.

"It was a tear-off, and we have video footage that shows this," Boullier told AUTOSPORT.
"It went straight into the brake duct, obstructing the airflow, so there was no more cooling and that was why, in two laps, the temperatures went through the roof.
"The brake fluid boiled and we lost the brakes, so it was a complete fluke the tear-off should get lodged in there."

It is not the first time Boullier has encountered such a problem as the same occurred to Kimi Raikkonen during his time at Lotus in the 2013 Belgian GP.
"To be honest, I remember the same stupid thing happened with Kimi, that a tear-off went into the front brake," added Boullier.
"Obviously the drivers need them, but we need to maybe think about how and where we throw them. Maybe we need to think about something for the future."

Boullier has expressed relief the front-jack man was uninjured after showing lightning reflexes to avoid being run over by Alonso.
"Everybody knew Fernando had brake issues," added Boullier.
"The brakes had started to fall off the cliff when he came into the pitlane. "Obviously it was a very good reaction from the front-jack man. Thankfully nothing happened to him."

That would explain how they were able to so quickly inform Button that he needn't worry about his own car.

Yeah, McLaren F1 gave into sponsorship colors very early. They just happened to have only a couple sponsors over time, so everyone wants to see them with Marlboro colors. It just so happened that Their Vodafone days were so similar to their West days, that the black/gray/silver style is actually their most common.

Orange is certainly cool, and if you take into account sports cars/Can-Am, it becomes more relevant, but they haven't used it that much.

If they actually had a main sponsor this season, I'm sure they'd be colored based on that.
