Thousands of games on the cheap!

I scrolled through the endless list on the main shop page of the Steam app but nothing stood out for me. Has anyone seen any hidden gems that nobody knows about for a mad price?

I *just* bought Undertale for $8, but that was only $2 off. May be better deals down the line. It's received very... interesting... reviews. So WTH, I grabbed it.

I see even Fallout 4 has a slight discount.

And me with no money left from the holidays.

The rumor is that due to new EU laws regarding returns/refunds (specifically that it's a valid reason to return an item for a refund if it goes on sale cheaper, then just re-buy it), Steam aren't doing any flash sales. So, if it's on sale now, it won't get any more on sale later on. The only exception I'm seeing is that Ubisoft are doing their own flash sales.

Most of what I wanted I already have. Picked up Undertale, a couple of Final Fantasy Games, Sid Meier's Pirates, and some other assorted crud, but I'm definitely not going nuts.

Fallout 4 and Just Cause 3 are both discounted, but still high enough that I'm forcing myself to go through all these games I already have and haven't played yet.

Fuck it, bought Fallout 4 for 17% off!

(Still need to spend another bazillion hours finishing Witcher 3... )

Hah, I'm in the same boat. Fallout has been way more engaging to me.

Got Grid Autosport and Bioshock Infinite. May get Wolfenstein The New Order and Rocket League before the sales end.

DLing for one of my purchases is stuck at 22%, I've since turned off the firewall and the AV. Anybody have any tips on resuming/speeding it up?

Haven't run into it myself though.

I'd delete the local content for that title then re-download the whole thing.

This year's summer Steam sale (http://steamed.kotaku.com/this-years-steam-summer-sale-has-started-1782497448) is live, starting now.

Steam doesn’t have many gay sex games. Plenty of anime boob games, sure, but if you’re looking for hot dudes getting it on, it’s slim pickings. Robert Yang is trying to change that.

(Warning: some possibly NSFW images ahead.)

I wanted MGS TTP (30%? is that all?) and Rise of the Tomb Raider. (currently not discounted). Will wait though, ideally looking for less than £30 for them both.

The sale items change every day.

I'm pretty sure that this time around, all sales are shown at once. I don't know if they're updating daily.

Yeah, I'm reading on /r/Steam that it's basically a static sale through the whole thing.

Saw Fallout 4 is half off, so I finally picked that up. Just Cause 3 is also half off, but as much as I want to play it it just sounds like it's still too broken and there appear to be no plans to fix it. I'll wait until I get the same thing I did with Just Cause 2, where it's like $5.

I had very few problems with Just Cause 3. It ran very well for me. Good fun while it lasted but no real drive to go back to it now.

Yeah, that's the other side to it. I really enjoyed JC2, but what I'm reading makes it sound like JC3 just isn't nearly as good.

At any rate, I've got Fo4 to keep me entertained right now (and Stardew Valley), so I figure by the time I'm done with those, JC3 will be cheap enough that I won't care if I only get a short amount of entertainment out of it.

I'm seeing that they added Rise of the Tomb Raider... currently sitting at 38.99 USD discount

Grabbed a few more. Had the Metro Redux pack recommended so grabbed that, Stalker: Call of Pripyat, and Epistory which so far is pretty fun, though I like typing games because I type fast.

Doom worth picking up?

Doom is fucking excellent. I've only tried the demo on PS4 but its enough for me to give it a thumbs up.

Is it just me that thinks the steam sales have got worse and worse over the years? I haven't bought a damned thing in about two years I'd reckon. You used to get amazing deals, now it just feels like the same stuff gets discounted every sale and anything anyone wants get 30% off the RRP and you can buy cheaper from a key site even after the discount.

Doom worth picking up?

The game plays well and it's absolutely gorgeous. I'm running 1440p, mostly everything Ultra (AF is at 4x or 8x, I think), and it's still doing 80-100 fps. It's absolutely insanely optimized. Also, the MP feels way better than it did from the beta.

I played through much of the first mission. Part way through (after the tutorial-esque bit), some music kicks in, and it ends just perfectly. That's all I will say. It just works so well.

I got a few things this year. 50-75% off. I'm happy with it. I still haven't played all of the ones I bought last year though... So, maybe I shouldn't buy so many anyway. :D/:(

Hi, YW, this is important. You have a pending Steam trade request that I'll need you to accept. :D

Thanks for the Doom recommendations. I'm really enjoying it, though not as much as I'm unexpectedly enjoying Epistory. Fallout 4 is kicking my ass, but I think I just need to learn it a little more, as I'm surprised at how much I'm getting owned.

Doom is on sale for $15 right now.

Have been wanting this for a while, but just couldn't see spending $60 for it.
