The site we've been basing our number on don't have anything for 2016, so I took last years results and added a prediction variable (ie; the McLarens scored 1% of the points, but jacked them way up)
Please pick before the first practice session (2016-03-18, only a few days away) otherwise points accrue after the race.

We're not that organized. Besides, it would mean the pricing system is broken. (I was going to make the MB's total 41 to force a spilt, but they're not supposed to 1-2 as many races this year as the last two. Also, I tried to lower the mid-pack teams)

No, messed up (was rushing); tried making the mid-pack teams more competitive. Ended up making RBR and McLaren much more reasonable but not the others (didn't realize how cheap STR and FI were last year).

billi, goal for next year to to weigh the pricing better; FI, Sauber, Renault ... will be nearly half of what they are now. Combined they should be able to challenge both of the Benz's. Basically someone will want those picks, and not as a joke.

You choose the driver, you stick with it, unless he/she is injured and then you inherit his/her temporary replacement.

That's certainly how it went with injuries, a swap hasn't happen in the decade (14th season now?) that this has been run.
If Dave specified this in years past we'll go by that, otherwise billi and the Verstappens will have their choice.

In FF1, driver values are influence greatly by the team's performance too. We're buying into their combined effect. That's why drivers such as Alonso can now have a super affordable price!

Like I said, we made our picks not purely because of the drivers. Cost of each driver is heavily influenced by the teams that they're with.

Based on your understanding of the 'rules', that we strictly go with the driver, if a driver is sacked mid-season, will your fantasy team's driver roster also be shortened as a result? Only injuries/deaths permit you to pick up the team's replacement driver?

Anyway, I'll respect Balki's final decision. If I am also demoted along with Kvyat, who knows, maybe he'll end up super motivated and end up out scoring Ricciardo again in a Torro Rosso and I'll still be able to kick your ass IMOA! :p

If your driver is sacked/injured/banned you get the driver who replaces them, this has been in the rules for years and happens every season. The point is that the driver is no longer there, Kvyat still is. Without trying to be harsh you really should have taken into account that Kvyat was likley to be demoted during the season when you picked your driver just like most people take into account that Maldonado crashes a lot, Vettel is the number 1 driver at Ferrari etc. It was a factor, you gambled on him staying and lost.

I was not even aware that I was making a gamble like this because a driver usually finishes his season or get terminated one way or another.

Never specified this. IMO the price is determined more by the car than the driver, which is why Alonso is 1/3rd of the price of Hamilton and also why there's usually (usually) not heaps of difference between the drivers within a team. With that in mind, I'd be inclined to consider the picks a "seat" rather than a driver.

In terms of whether they have swapped or been replaced, I reckon they've replaced each other. Verstappen has replaced Kvyat at Red Bull, so now you ought to get Verstappen.

Yep. B teams were using the proper values so best placed B team was the moral winner imo. That said, we all followed the rules (as we did this year when people got given verstappen when they picked Kyvatt) so I'm keeping my threepeat :) But I will certainly doff my cap to Kch and pass the trophy over so he can drink some champagne from it.
