Tinkering around with my main PC, tweaking/etc (tuning it up for the impending employment (in case it's needed to crunch big excel sheets again)).

While updating bios, I realized that not only have I not done shit to this thing in two years, in regard to overclocking, I didn't even have the memory set right.

I've got 32g of 2133 G.Skill in it...bios was set to 1333....

So....dumbass. That was an easy "overclock". I got that set to where it needs to be, now I'm seeing how the 4790k does at 4.4G trying to torture it (on stock voltage).

Now if I could only get the GPU to overclock (EVGA's XOC is currently wonky, and doesn't seem to change the core clock, just the memory). Supposedly, the norm for these are 2100 core, 5500 memory. But I can't find out, because the fucking program is shit. Tried MSI's Afterburner too with the same (non) result.

Just making the change to the RAM (again, setting it to what it should be, not even overclocked) and bumping the CPU up 400MHz, netted a 1300 point increase in Firestrike Ultra.

I need a fucking beer.
