Yoink.

Absolutely love this car, and have already looked at buying/importing it to NZ, but for $25,000 i could buy a GT-R or something instead. :/ Will just stick to driving it in Gran Turismo for now.

AZ-1. In place of the Beat you can buy the S660.

I probably could not fit in any of them. :(

That seems like a slightly odd trio to match up - the Sera is a full-size car with a 1.5L engine, whereas the other two are Kei cars with 660cc. The obvious third car to compare with the AZ-1 and Beat is the Suzuki Cappuccino (collectively known as the 'ABC' cars).

Of the three, I'd pick the AZ-1 I think, seems like a decent base to tune for more power  Not sure I could fit into it, though.

The Sera is just a Corolla with funky doors, so I’ll pass on that.

(Side note, I haven’t seen a Sera in ages, I thought they were ugly back in the day, too)

The AZ-1 is pure funky all-over and I love its styling. It’s a battle between that and the Beat, in my view.

I was a passenger in a Beat once. A friend of mine owned one. Cam you’ll be surprised, tall people do fit in them, judging by the leggy blonde who was at the wheel!

OK, I'll take an AZ-1 then. :p

Probably thinking of the Sera since Regular Car Reviews just did a video about it and basically said how much more practical it was than the AZ-1. It was also the inspiration for the McLaren F1's doors.

I think I'd pick that as the practical option, and I also like the interior the most.

AZ-1.

None of them are going to be performers so I go for the best looking.

I'll opt for the cash prize instead, please.

AZ-1, swap in an Aprilia 1100 V4 from a tuono and drift for days!

Oh boy, the lyrics/title of a song my daughter loves pops into mind...

You, me, and the Beat go great together... :sing:

Even without that ring worm, I would've taken the Beat anyway...

Ring worm? Are you still talking about cars?

:erm:

Also, Michael Jackson would have a word with you.

Door number three is in Irmo, SC!

https://www.japandirectmotors.com/

I stumbled upon that after seeing this on the Denver craigslist:

JDM RHD 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser Turbo Diesel japandirectmotors.com - $17450 (https://denver.craigslist.org/ctd/d/ballentine-jdm-rhd-1990-toyota-land/6864574682.html)

I was aware of that company (and another nearby) and they regularly get kei trucks that I like. I am not that passionate about JDM to pay ridiculous prices for a novelty vehicle.

I agree, but they're fun to look at. It has always seemed to me that RHD would be a handicap in the USA on roads with a lot of traffic.

Oh man I would love that Land Cruiser. Other than that I would take the Beat.

Well, RCR did a review of both the AZ1 and the Sera....think I'd go for the Sera. And yes, I know RCR makes a lot of fart jokes.

I think I'd be ok if it was automatic. Shifting seems it would be the weird part

Went to that JDM site. Mostly junk.

AZ-1 because mid-engined, Mazda, and fancy doors.

There also have to be some wrecked FZ-09s or Speed Triples out there that could donate their engines for a swap.

You get used to a wrong-handed gear lever pretty quickly. The hardest bit would be lane placement.

Crazed_Insanity

Yeah, never driven on the ‘wrong’ side before..., I’d like to think I’d be able to get used to it, but...

Rare White Ape
April 24th, 2019, 04:54 PM
Oh, and you'll need to deal with which side the indicator stalk is on the steering column.

You'll be turning on the wipers more often then you'll be signalling intention to change lanes, trust me.

Our cars have a mix of L and R. I do mix them up from time to tolme but that's also because I drive max twice a week.

The RHD cars would be right at home in a rural mail carrier role.
