View Full Version : Gran Turismo 7

It's been announced for PlayStation 5. No release date as of yet, but two videos have been put out, a trailer and a brief gameplay video. Lots of new Porsches, Trial Mountain and Daytona make a return, and there appears to be some day/night cycle of some sort.

This game is clearly a return to the Gran Turismo formula of old with a heavy campaign mode, including the return of GT Auto, Used Car Lots, and Tuning.

So that Australian sim-seat manufacturer did indeed spill the beans (http://gtxforums.net/showthread.php?1930-PlayStation-5&p=150339&viewfull=1#post150339). In regards to the logo, at least.

I spy a GT Sport mention on the brief glimpse of the home screen, so thatís pretty important.

Back to the old "map" style menu

Hmm not so sure on Sarah and Rupert!

The359
June 11th, 2020, 05:30 PM
I'd guess they only show up the first time you play the game. And probably have an option in the menu.

I'm not trying to be funny, but why is it called "Understeer Engineering" and why are both Sarah and Rupert... I mean. Can we have an option to change the identity of the actor/actress?

Sarah is kinda hot. Rupert is a boomer.

There are probably other characters.

All I want to see is that it supports VR in every mode, as just an option to turn on, rather than being a separate mode.

Videos left me way less excited than the screenshot with the 86. That's what I really missed with GT:Sport, I think - lots of random road cars to drive around foolishly.

Does that marker near the Arizona-New Mexico border mean that RRV is back?

There seems to be a lot of speculation about the dots on the map, including the one in Texas and the one near Utah. One may be the Northern Isle Speedway, and another may be Special Stage Route X, both of which are confirmed as being "American".

Blue Moon Bay was shown to be one of the dots in California.

There’s a mystery dot in the region of Weissach and Hockenheim as well…

God dammit. I sold my wheel and stopped playing GT Sport a couple of years ago due to it just being boring and shitty. PCars 1/2 was shitty but in different ways.

Maybe this will spark my interest in the old GT again.

I just hope I start with a shitty econobox and have to work my way up. As much as I like Forza, starting out with 8 super cars and 2 trillion dollars takes away some of the fun and excitement of earning a nice car.

Even if you donít pre-order Forza you get all sorts of bonuses for playing previous games, iirc. Or are you talking about GT? Havenít had a GT game in a long time.

Yeah, I meant GT. I don't think any GT game has rolled any bonuses over to the next game, except maybe Prologue?

Having unaffordable cars that you can instead buy with real dollars is a bit annoying.
I dont mind a bit of a grind to earn cars, but if you want more than a few of the eleventy billion dollar cars its just a ridiculous amount of game time to earn them.

Rare White Ape
June 21st, 2020, 10:21 PM
Yeah the 20mil cars are stupid. I grinded for weeks to earn enough to buy the 250 GTO in GTS and found it underwhelming to drive compared to the same car in Assetto.

Having multiple cars at that high cost is not real fun. Plus you canít even buy them via MTX. Itís a pure gameplay earn only!

Unless youíre good enough to beat Lewis Hamiltonís laptimes!

So there will no longer be those crazy SV levitation cars and instead there'll be blinged out W196 on twentys?

What are the chances of this being out with a year?
Wasn't GT6 released without much fanfare/hype/public announcement?

If it's going to be a glorified GT:S with a proper offline mode (would totally buy) it seems plausible. Also plausible; we get a prologue and the full GT7 releases on the PS6.

Rare White Ape
September 24th, 2020, 01:48 PM
GT6 marked the 15th anniversary of the series. It had a ton of improvements, but it felt more like a continuation of GT5. However itís online mode was much more robust and it was the first game to feel like it had a lot of online connectivity with its timed events and whatnot, plus a good amount of free DLC to compliment the paid stuff.

I think people had definitely begun experiencing GT delay fatigue by then, and it was very late in the PS3 lifespan, so itís no surprise that it may have flown under the radar a bit.

The chances of GT7 being out before Christmas next year?

Very slim.

I was actually hoping for a demo/prologue this year and the full game out by Golden Week 2021.

Re-watched the announcement trailer; it looks like they went from the menu to the track within 3 seconds. That is really impressive (if it's the actual loading time and not editing).

According to this trailer:

GT7 "anticipated first half 2021"

So, a 2022 release then?

So, a 2022 release then?

If you're feeling very optimistic. At least the PS5 supply should be adequate and one will have plenty of time to save up.

In news that is set to shock the world, GT7 has been delayed to 2022.

Sony has said it is due to challenges presented by the ongoing pandemic.

The next delay, due later this year, will push the game back to 2023.

Seeing how clean and straight forward the interface is a breath of fresh air after playing Forza Motorsport for the last... 15(!) years, since I didn't have a PS3, and the mainline series skipped PS4. Cannot wait to try this out when it releases.

Trying to figure out if you have to buy the deluxe physical version of the game to get the Tom's Supra. That'd suck.

Rare White Ape

I'm sure that if you did it would be in your garage for free. Others would have to earn the credits. That's how it went with GT Sport: the various retailer exclusive cars were just region-specific car packs that anyone could buy in-game and you just got a scratch card with a bunch of them for free.

Tom Servo
September 23rd, 2021, 09:08 AM
I'm totally fine with that. I'm hoping we don't end up in that situation where there's one car I basically will never get in Forza Horizon 4 because I didn't pre-order the game at Gamestop or some shit. I don't mind just having to grind to get something that's still possible to get.

Well I went ahead and pre ordered the 25th anniversary edition. It has a PS5 game disc and a download code for the PS4 version, so Iím good to go with whichever console I happen to own in MarchÖ or in the month itís delayed to :p
