Off the start Mercedes seem to have a monster of a car, clearly the class of the field but only if they get on top of their ride height issues.

Similar thing with McLaren, they have a great package, but they just can't dial in their brakes.

Expect Red Bull and Ferrari to fight it off in the first 2 or 3 rounds, with Mercedes on damage limitation until their next upgrade package comes. Then it's Alpha Tauri. Then expect AM, Alpine, Williams and Haas to mix it up in the first races. McLaren and Alfa have reliability issues, which, if fixed should put maca in the fight for third, and the Swiss team in the middle of the trailing group.

Drivers input is an average of their last few seasons, so drivers who recently moved teams are over/undervalued. For example, I don't think Russell will be as productive as Hamilton at Mercedes, but because he had a great year against Latifi, his productivity is skewed. Same goes for Perez, that guy will never match the points he got against the likes of Stroll or Ocon when he is paired with Verstappen.

Sainz and Norris I think have the most representative values. But what are we going to do, do some crazy statistics to pinpoint their potential? Our league is intended to be the microwave popcorn of Fantasy Sports.

What I did try to do was make it so most teams who spend their full $40 fantasy dollars get to score about 550 points by the end of the season. We'll see how far off the mark we get.

Yeah, who knows what might happen with Perez. In a normal year, with that price, it's a crazy proposition, but... it's a long season and these cars are sure bone shakers. Some drivers have already asked for street circuit promoters to go easy on the kerbs, with the suspensions needing to be stiff to make the under tunnels work and all that.

It was established a few seasons ago that when you pick a driver, you only get that driver, not their seat. So if they get replaced you're SOL, but if they get to drive for a major team (George Russell almost winning with Mercedes, for example) you do get those points.

I would have chosen Sainz at least, but I chose by heart and not by logic, hence choosing every year Mclaren (which is my team in F1 since 1978).

As I was watching Perez put in some good laps in quali, I kept thinking, "Imagine if he keeps on beating Verstappen in qualifying and he is WDC contention by the summer break, we're all going to look like tools".

I was also thinking, Do I have Mick? I hope I chose Mick. Kid's getting good.

If Perez can win more poles and races, for sure that will help his confidence, but I think he is too nice, like Bottas, to be in real contention. Plus, the team’s #1 has been too well established at this point.

So far Russell looks like he could beat the #1 driver, but whenever Ham is beaten by a teammate, his team really isn’t in contention for champion anyways…

I just think the ‘#2’ needs to rattle the #1 right away in order to rightfully assume the #1 position.

Like what Senna did to Prost, Ham did to Alonso, Ricciardo did to Vettel, Max did to Ricciardo…

Had Perez finished the 1st race and didn’t get screwed by the pit stop last race and finish this race, he would’ve scored major points and be way ahead of Max.

However, once a driver psychologically accepts his #2 status, it’ll probably be very hard for him to mount a serious challenge…

We’ll see.

Same thought process for picking Max and Ham. However, Who knew the GOAT would choke this season? Seasons still long, maybe HAM will turn around?

I think Ferrari definitely has some advantage over the other teams… Ferrari superiority is also showing on some tracks like Austria, in Alfa Romeo and Haas at times.

Alpha Tauri is actually it’s sitting right behind Alfa Romeo, Haas and right in front Mercedes powered Aston and Williams. So that’s probably about right for those low budget teams.

I suspect that if driver being equal and they’re all equally reliable, Ferrari probably has the fastest car.

Anyway, I personally think Ferrari has the best cars… and that even helped Alfas and Haas to score more points. Without DNFs, Ferrari powered cars will be difficult to beat. You put all of your eggs 🥚 n the Ferrari basket, if they sort out their reliability problems, I’m sure you might still come out ahead.

Hopefully Leclerc can become more mature and be able to drive better under pressure... and also be more assertive so that he can lead the team out of this mess. Driver has the power to not box and ignore team's stupid strategy. He needs to learn to be his own man and not allow himself to be pushed around by his own team. Ferrari fundamentally has a good car, hopefully better luck next year. At least Sainz has more sense to ignore team's stupid request to box.

So I was just noticing how straight all those graph lines basically are and had an idea ... what if next year we each had to choose two teams (three even?) and then had a mid-season switch-up at a predetermined point that saw all our teams get completely replaced. All teams would be chosen before round 1 of, and if the rule was that each person's own teams couldn't have more than half their value in common with each other then it would certainly make things less predictable.

There's 24 rounds next year, so with two teams you could split it evenly (12/12), or back-load it perhaps (10/14) to increase the chances of the leader being overhauled? With three teams all kinds of splits could be interesting. Subsequent teams could be kept secret until they are rolled out.

The joke is really not funny anymore. FIA really needs to learn to assess penalties in real time, not continue to mess with results after the fact. Even shit like budget cap should not be reviewed after the season. Why couldn't they monitor the accounting along the season? This is getting ridiculous. If teams are caught cheating after the fact, there should just be automatic DQs.
