View Full Version : Does anyone know a way of scheduling when android does updates?

Seriously, this is driving me insane. I go to use my phone to look something up and the damn thing has either got the idiotic sync circle displaying (which often won't go away) or the internet just plain doesn't work until I restart the phone. I like android but not being able to have it do it's updates while I sleep is where it falls flat on it's face and doesn't get up. I've tried looking for an app that handles this but no luck. Suggestions?

Which updates? App updates, or syncing?

You can turn off background data so that apps are only allowed to access data when they are the main app being used.

If it's app updates, you can go into the Play Store app settings and turn off automatic updates.

Android is so flexible! iOS is just Apple trying to own your life!

...oh wait...

You can have it update apps when only connected via wifi. But I feel that is merely a band-aid for what you want, not an actual fix.

Might ask on the droid forums.

I should have said syncing rather than updates. I tried turning off background data like Keith said and it seems to have worked. That said, I think I'll net another iPhone at renewal time. ;)
