View Full Version : Paul Walker's accident

Sad, little man

New report says that the speed was 93mph at the time of the accident. But, equally concerning, if you catch it, is the mention that the car had (at least two) nine year old tires on it. I'm assuming that translates into they were the factory tires. Those things must have been like hockey pucks at that age.

That's not really an endorsement for the tuning company he part-owned with the driver.

I guess the amount of tread remaining on even a nine-year-old tire would depend on how much the car was driven. What was the mileage? I doubt a car like that would've been driven on a daily basis. More like a weekend car.

Still sad...any Paul Walker news is. (I Google his name on a daily basis).

Along with Bailey Jay, right?

It's not the remaining tread that's an issue; it's that the rubber gets hard as a rock (or hockey puck, as slm opined) after nine years.

You tend to see it most obviously on agricultural vehicles that rarely hit tarmac. Huge cracks in rock hard tread but it still holds air.

Along with Bailey Jay, right? (S)he is hot!

Actually I Google Anderson Silva everyday as well...not for the same reasons as Bailey.

And for his last movie Walker did a remake of District B13. To their credit David Belle is along for the ride.

So is Walker the bald cop guy? Who was portrayed in the original by Cyril Raffaelli, who is also a rock solid stuntman? How's that going to work?

Well played, Sir.

Seeing as how Walker isn't Tom Cruise, I doubt he'd have a problem with someone else doing his stunts.

9year old tires, holy fuck. I replace mine every 3 years at the longest.

Those would have been worse than driving on new all-seasons as far as my experience is.
