Well, clearly we'll be able to play North Yankton at some point, since it was (is?) available to kind of cheat your way in there already.
Nope, it was taken out in a recent patch (1.08 I think).

Grand Theft Auto Online Mission Creator Confirmed by Screens and Vid – Report (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Grand-Theft-Auto-Online-Mission-Creator-Confirmed-by-Screens-and-Vid-Report-414744.shtml)

A mission creator for Grand Theft Auto Online was discussed some time ago, and now it has been leaked in some pictures and then confirmed in a YouTube video.

Rockstar Games has already hinted that the possibility for players to make their own custom missions might become a reality in the future, with the Grand Theft Auto Online content creator. Now that possibility comes even closer to reality, with a player posting screenshots proving that he has accessed the coveted feature. GTA Online Forums user funmw2 has posted some in-game screen grabs in a GTA mission creator thread (http://gtaforums.com/topic/672451-mission-creator/), detailing that it is possible to modify the mission settings. The tool will allegedly allow users to create custom Mission, Last Team Standing and Heists type missions for Grand Theft Auto Online.

Soon thereafter, a video has emerged, showing another player using the Grand Theft Auto 5 mission editor, and stating that it's “really buggy” and that “lots of stuff doesn't work.”
C'mon Rockstar, throw some damn money at this problem!

Since interest in this title has pretty much died off, let's try to put all future Snapmatic pics in this one thread, folks.

Tried out a pure Classic Red on the Carbonizzare. Since I was trying to mold the car after a classic European coupé, I chose a thick spoke rim. Eh, mostly unsuccessfully.

92

Painting a Pegassi Monroe in a similar red next to a red-and-black Grotti Cheetah resulted in a bit too much red. So I went deep yellow with a bright yellow pearlescent finish. The color is a work in progress.

93

It does make my garage match a bit too well.

Was out messin' around last week and caught a flyer with a random fella. :random: He was a decent pilot; we poached the Titan cargo plane from the airport and took it for a spin.

Take off!

Prepare for some chop!

We set down at Sandy Shores Airfield and I rung up my mechanic to drop off the Carbonizzare, like a Gentleman Boss. :shocker:

Twice now Rob and I have accidentally triggered constantly respawning armored trucks. Basically a few seconds after you hit a truck another one spawns nearby. By the time you've hit the pay and spray to lose the wanted level your partner has robbed the second truck and the third one has spawned. Repeat until bored or you let one escape. The first time we netted around 70k each in around 25 minutes. It happened again Friday night and I made around 400k before giving up and going to bed.

Nice little earner, and we gained a few levels too as each truck was worth 2000rp. Got the bank account looking healthier after waxing a mil on an Entity XF.

In other news more user maps are filtering into the experience. JumpZ jumpZ is an interesting one. It's a line of floating waterski jumps across a section of ocean then a dash to the finish once on the beach. You are on motorbikes. It's pretty tough to concentrate on getting the landings right. Give it a try if you see it come up.

Grand Theft Auto V Title Update 1.09 Now Available for Download (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Grand-Theft-Auto-V-Title-Update-1-09-Now-Available-for-Download-416044.shtml)

Rockstar has just released a new new patch for their Grand Theft Auto V smash hit, which promised to fix a few bugs and improves anti-cheating features.

Unfortunately, the current patch is very small and only fixes a handful of issues and exploits, though there are still a lot of problems that need to be addressed in future updates. According to the official changelog, which is very short by the way, patch 1.09 adds some improved anti-cheat measures.

Aside from that, Rockstar confirmed the update also fixes several GTA$ and RP exploits that have been previously reported by players or simply discovered by developer's programmers.
Heh, so the modder money and bounties loophole has been closed. Smoke 'em if you've got 'em.

Grand Theft Auto 5 PC Gameplay Video Leaked, Shows Graphics Settings, More (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Grand-Theft-Auto-5-PC-Gameplay-Video-Leaked-Shows-Graphics-Settings-More-416744.shtml)

After some new rumors concerning the release date of Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PC, an actual gameplay video has appeared showing what seems to be footage of the PC edition (http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ipf9daRtVtc) of the open world game.

GTA 5 came out for PS3 and Xbox 360 last September and, since then, Rockstar Games has been silent in regards to a PC edition of the open world game. In recent weeks, multiple reports have appeared online claiming that GTA 5 is going to debut for PC sometime in March, quite possibly on March 12. Now, an actual gameplay video has appeared online with what seems to be footage of GTA 5 running on the PC.

The video even shows the game's menu complete with bespoke graphics settings like anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, not to mention different quality settings for things like shadows, textures, and more. Button prompts also feature keyboard references, so it's possible that the video may be legit. Even so, until Rockstar confirms GTA V for PC, take everything with a grain of salt.

Grand Theft Auto Online Cheaters Will Lose Their Money, Might Get Banned (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Grand-Theft-Auto-Online-Cheaters-Will-Lose-Their-Money-Might-Get-Banned-417708.shtml)

GTA Online players who used different exploits or bugs to earn more cash will lose their money after the current multiplayer maintenance period ends, according to Rockstar.

Grand Theft Auto 5 owners are currently forced to endure a special maintenance period for the GTA Online multiplayer mode. After the offline period has ended, Rockstar has confirmed that those who used exploits to earn "game-breaking amounts of in-game cash" will be punished.

"Anyone who innocently received GTA$ as a result of these exploits but did not engage in cheating to acquire it will not face any further action - the funds will just be removed, and you'll be able to keep any items you currently own," the company said on its Newswire (http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/52096/taking-aim-at-gta-online-cheaters.html).

"Those who actively engaged in cheating and exploiting the game in this manner will, however, be subject to in-game penalties at our discretion. This may include being placed in isolated cheater pools or banned from GTA Online altogether."
Awesome garage stays awesome.

Grand Theft Auto Online Multiplayer Operational Once More After Maintenance (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Grand-Theft-Auto-Online-Multiplayer-Operational-Once-More-after-Maintenance-417754.shtml)

That mode, however, hasn’t been operational for the better part of today, January 16, due to a period of planned maintenance, in which Rockstar solved issues and punished cheaters.

Now, the studio has confirmed on Twitter (https://twitter.com/RockstarGames/status/423830056574529536) that the multiplayer mode is back online as of right now.

Awesome garage stays awesome.
I logged onto my account last night to see what the Great Hax-Cash Cleanup aftermath looked like and it wasn't perfect.

My main 'toon Mallory (Rank 100+) was left with her awesome garage and only the cash she was carrying around with her (about $130k). Her Maze Bank account was bone dry @ $0. I deposited $100k back into her account and I'll let that sit for a bit to see if there would be any residual wiping of cash before I deposit the $500k that my other 'toon is carrying in his pocket.

144
The pocket money vs. bank account money difference has me stumped: before the mad modder cash started raining down, I had over $1 mil in the bank at all times. Now I have about $600k -- yet I have many millions locked up in cars and services (tanks, helicopters, jets, etc. -- both Merryweather and Pegasus will still deliver whatever hardware I request), so I can't really complain... but I am.

When you're carrying a five-star Wanted level, the subway tunnels are a good place to lie low and let the heat cool off.

I am now broke as a joke.

Coming back to GTA V, I had the "bad luck" to get a chance to fly the Frogger. It's a unique helicopter in that it's the only one to have a fenestron tail instead of a conventional tail rotor. Whether by luck or design, it is by far the best and smoothest flying helo in the game. I had to have one -- yet in my ignorance when I was sitting on $1.12 billion, I had bought both the Buzzard and the JetRanger and thought I didn't need to own *every* 'copter in the joint. How wrong I was!

Unfortunately I only had about $600k in the bank and needed $1.3 million. So I broke down and sold my Truffade Adder for ~$750k. Mission accomplished!

Long story short, I've got the Frogger at my disposal now and I had an open slot in my Rank 111 main 'toon Mallory's garage. I was thinking I should buy something cheap like an Akuma motorcycle as she doesn't have any when a classy-as-fuck Declasse Tornado drop-top rolled on by. Shit, I gotta have that! Some fresh paint and new kicks and da-da-da-DA-da, I'm lovin' it.

Oh, I did. But navigating under L.S. through her subway is a very snug fit, if you know what I'm sayin'.

Speaking of Tank Stories, this week I've hooked up with Rob & Keith O on GTA Online a few times for good times.

At one point, I let Rob test drive the Rhino Main Battle Tank. Based upon the sounds he was making, it must have been quite enjoyable. I tried taking some pics while following him but it's actually rather difficult to pop into and out of photo mode while driving.

Yup.

Whilst I didn't get your trust-fund old-money hand-me-down in the first place, I spunked every penny of my 1.75 million hard earned dollars on a Buzzard Attack Chopper.

This means that Team Belligerence in now officially airborne. You can run, you can hide, but you'll never escape the prospect of one of us belly flopping onto concrete or slamming down in a fiery wreck at any point.

So last night I finally got a chance to try out the Laguna Seca and Monaco GP user created tracks and I must say, I'm damn impressed. Especially the Laguna one which other then a bit of jump between turn 4 and 5 is really well done, even with the proper elevation changes. Most fun on motorcycles IMO. Now the Monaco circuit is a different kettle of fish altogether and you can forget about the same level of accuracy as the real circuit's elevation changes were not even a consideration. Instead what you have is a pretty good copy of the layout only expanded about 5 times in size so it's ultra fast and is a lot of fun with a bunch of supercars. Definitely try these if you haven't yet.

There's also a figure 8 jump race (can't remember the name) that's been added which is a blast too (in cars) but it suffers from the ramp/bike glitch (I want to call it) where when on a motorcycle, you tend to face plant into the ramp face unless you hit it just right.

I spent the the last few days testing out suspension settings in GTA V. The Competition suspensions are far too hard and can cause your car to fishtail and see-saw pretty badly.

If you stick to either Lowered or Sport suspensions instead, you'll find your rides a lot more controlled and ultimately faster. ;)

After tweaking all the cars in my 'toons stables, I think my favorite car has become the Pegassi Infernus. It pulls like a *beast*, the rear is now stable and it's a top end jet. The only knock against it, appropriately enough, is that the steering is a little sluggish at low speeds.

Jason, it used to be racing. But they toned down the payouts AFAIK. I haven't played in a while, but maybe jump into survival missions? If you don't have them unlocked, someone can still invite you into a game I believe.

The nice bit is that they give you guns and ammo and you can hold onto it if you complete all the waves (including the minigun ). But you lose the guns you don't have unlocked when you die. I'm not sure how picked-up ammo works with weapons you already have unlocked and own, though.

Mr Wonder
February 10th, 2014, 01:56 PM
Survival is pretty decent still. Boneyard isn't as easy as it was, they've fucked with the enemy spawn points a little, but it's still $20k if you survive all 10 waves. There are decent places to hide on all the survivals - just look on youtube if nothing jumps out at you.
Races can still be reasonably lurative depoending on how good you are but just remember that it's now paid out on the time you spend racing. Jumps, Jumps, Jumps ($3k tops) won't pay out anything like as much as the grand tour ($15-20k) for example. And that's if you finish first. That dicking around we did the other night isn't really all that efficient for cash generation or grinding rp.

Missions can be a great way to earn cash but you have to be proficient at them. The level you're on now the payouts can easily be wiped out by wrecking your personal car or sticky bombing the crap out of everything. However once you start rolling them back to back at a nice pace you can easily earn $80k+ in a session before you realise it. As you level up the missions pay out a lot more, the most I've seen recently has been $25k for some of them. A few of those and you're laughing.

For people looking to rake in some cash/RP you can now host missions yourself from the pause menu. Select online then jobs.
Coveted and Rooftop Rumble (by far the easiest and quickest) pay around $15k each and can be solo'd easily. You can choose from all of the missions, though I think the level restrictions still apply but only the host needs to meet those.
Rooftop Rumble can be done solo in less than five minutes with a decent car, that includes the loading times.

Top Changes
- Two new tire smoke colours are available from Los Santos Customs in Online (Green & Purple).
- Three celebrations have been added to Online - Dock, Knuckle Crunch, and Air Thrusting.
- Players who are not the host of a job are now shown the "View Joined Players' Info" option while on the settings screen. This allows the player to access the list of players in their lobby, allowing muting or viewing profiles and stats.
- Fixed an issue where players were unable to claim vehicles after being destroyed in the impound lot.
- Fixed an exploit where players were able to give their vehicles nitrous boosts.
- Fixed an exploit where players were able to bring vehicles from Single Player into Online.
- Fixed an issue in Story Mode where a Titan would blow up when stored in a Hangar.
- If a player has already ranked up a character to Rank 20 they will be given the option to skip the tutorial.
- A number of vehicles have been added back to vehicles that can be stored in player garages: Karin Rebel (Clean), Beater Albany Emperor, Bravado Bison versions, Bravado Rumpo, Vapid Speedo, Canis Seminole

Rockstar has also confirmed that a new bug was detected after the patch went live, as the Gusenberg Sweeper disappeared from the inventories of GTA Online players. A fix is coming, so don't worry about the missing weapon.
So really, it's two downloads: patch 1.11 & the Business Update. Took me quite awhile to d/l the patch even tho' it was only ~54MBs.

The Business Update isn't bad but honestly should'a been there from the beginning. Yes, suits now look better but jeebus we sure had to wait a long time for that -- and it's far from being as critical as the need for 100+ more Contact Missions. In fact, pretty much assume I'm going to be complaining about any update from Rockstar that doesn't have more missionz. :finger:

I bought both the new Heavy Pistol and the Special Carbine. The HP is a waste of money, it kills faster than the basic Pistol by maybe one shot less. Maybe. Alternately, the Special Carbine is laughably strong and nerf-worthy. You can kill AI with as little as two bullets thrown in their general direction and move on to your next target -- Kch, for the few times you play, you need this gun!

BTW, you all should try (if you haven't yet) the Nurburgring race that was in the last Rockstar Approved batch of missions. No it's not a proper copy of the Nordschleife in it's layout but it is very true to the spirit of the circuit. Great fun with motorcycles or sports cars.

The Turismo R ($500k) isn't bad -- but I'm hearing that it's squirrelly so I'm not going to sacrifice my Entity XF just to find out.

I did buy a new Dinka Jester ($150k) and fully modded it. It looks like the Acura NSX Concept. Handles best with stock suspension, IMO. Solid pull, decent top end, I doubt it's faster than the Feltzer in Sport class. Also, when equipped with the rear louvers, it's completely bulletproof from the rear.

I took down a dozen scores tonight. Back up to $1.4 mil. The Dinka Jester was my sled for all of it; it's respectable. I changed to the big Carbon Wing and unless my fingers are playing tricks on me, I swear it helped button up the rear end when at speed. I won't go so far as tosay "you gotta have it" -- but if you get one, you won't be disappointed. ;)

I bought both the new Heavy Pistol and the Special Carbine. The HP is a waste of money, it kills faster than the basic Pistol by maybe one shot less. Maybe.
I did werk with the new Heavy Pistol yesterday -- jeebus, this thing is a waste. Slow-firing and I just can't drop anybody without a headshot. I repeated knocked down AI baddies only to have them stand back up. I worked with two other random players on Martin's "The Los Santos Connection" mission set on Hard difficulty and we couldn't get it done. They left me after two tries when I continued to use the Heavy Pistol while they were using bigger hardware.

Bronze Phoenix
433
I've been rolling like a redneck in a white/bronze Imponte Phoenix as posted above. It's running on the Stock Suspension, turbocharged, upgraded trans and Engine Management System (EMS) Level 2. When I switch to EMS Level 3, the car doesn't just get faster on the top end (at the cost of midrange power, IMO), it also becomes quite a bit more slippery and twitchy. Hmm -- again, it feels like Rockstar changes the handling model when you apply an EMS upgrade.

Maxing out EMS and Suspension upgrades can make the car needlessly difficult to drive. Think about that if some of your fast cars are excessively squirelly.

I've tried playing around with the rim selection quite a bit. These rims are obviously not a great fit but they look decent when in motion. Still, moving back to a more traditional 15-16" mesh rim is probably in the future; it's only digital money, after all. The snout vents should be a part of the headlights on a real '77 Trans Am. Gotta work with what we're given. *shrug*

One thing that bugs me is that people are too competitive. All the races i've made (i think) aren't really suited to full throttle racing, and a number of them are quite slow in places (in one race you even have to stop to wait for gates to open) but people just floor it everywhere, ram everyone to hell and crash/bash/smash because they are too bloody impatient to actually pay attention to the road signs, barriers and basic general layout of the tracks i've made.

I seriously hate the fact that races *have* to be fast and free flowing (seemingly), a more challenging type of race would involve tricky corners, and patience which some people just don't get.

I find you get more satisfaction out of a race when you've taken the time to drive/ride it properly while watching and passing the other idiots who crash every second corner because its a win or die race apparently. My win/loss ratio is horrendous, as i very often help players through my races by slowly leading them through the right path or waiting for them if they crash.

And also, WHERE THE F(*&^ IS THE FRIENDLY FREE ROAM, ROCKSTAR YOU MOFO'S!!!!

Surely to goddamned effing hell there is a demand for such a mode, as there are likely shitloads of people who always use invite only rooms.

Sorry for the rants, it's just been a bit of a shitty day today. :/

Why would a person in a random race assume that they are ever supposed to stop for a gate and not just try to blow through it? I mean, you have to know the game and the audience.

Jason
April 22nd, 2014, 03:16 AM
Oh, and yeah, I'd assume I'd have to crash through a gate, given the game. And I don't consider myself to be largely impatient, just this sort of game is about SPEED AND VIOLENCE

SkylineObsession
April 22nd, 2014, 08:55 PM
I give a pretty massive hint (i.e. tell them that there are gates that you have to wait at to open) in the race description, so maybe most of these people have reading and comprehension problems as well as violence and destruction problems. ;)

Obviously not everyone likes that idea, but i think it is a little unique really.

It came about by accident too, as i was busy making a race through the rich area of Los Santos and it goes through as many driveways as i could craft a race around and it was when i was testing it that i found not all gates can be rammed open. Really considered re-altering the route, but couldn't find an interesting way to do so - so left it in.

In my latest creation you and five other players start at the top of one of the five or so tallest buildings in the game, and if you survive the landing (takes a few seconds to finally hit the ground) then you'll find that it gets very indecisive around the motorway area, with constant direction changes onto other offramp/motorway lanes. Great if you like handbrake turns. ;)

Plan more of these races, but none will start from as high as that as a lot of buildings have too much clutter on the roofs.

My favourite German word is krankenschwester, which means nurse.

Broken down, it is kranken, for doctor (to go see the crank because du bist schlecht) and schwester, for sister.

There's also krankenhaus and krankenwagen, and you could probably guess what they mean.

In that clip I recognised the kid repeatedly yelling "starten (something) schpielen," which means, "Excuse me sir, but may I ask that you begin the game, please?"

Fiat500
April 24th, 2014, 10:44 PM
Ah, but "krank" = "ill", "sickly," so it means "a sister for the sick". Likewise "haus" und "wagen". :)

"Doctor" = "doktor".

But you're right about him quietly and politely encouraging the computer to perhaps run "der verdammte spiel".
You should hear them when they're angry!

The LLC Hexer is pretty cool right out of the gate -- which is good since you can't change anything on the bike like you can with the Western Motorcycle Company Bagger. But it's got a romantic shape: those long forks + high risers whisper of miles to be gobbled up from dusk 'til dawn. Snorty, too. I prefer mine modded with the Truck Horn; it's authoritative and fitting. While it's not a carver like the sportbikes, it's stable. Hauls some (wide) ass in its own right, too.

GTA 5 Online Gets Double GTA$ and RP on Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3 (http://news.softpedia.com/news/GTA-5-Online-Gets-Double-GTA-and-RP-on-Friday-and-Saturday-May-2-and-3-440338.shtml)

Grand Theft Auto 5 players who engage in the GTA Online multiplayer mode for the open world game today, May 2, and tomorrow, May 3, will earn double the amount of GTA$ and RP.

Rockstar Games is preparing some major enhancements to the GTA 5 multiplayer mode this month, after already rolling out the Capture mode creator tools a few weeks ago and allowing players to make their own encounters in the online experience.

Now, before the High Life update that's set to debut this month, the studio has confirmed on its Newswire that today and tomorrow, May 2 and 3, there will be double the amount of GTA$ and RP given for all Jobs and activities inside Grand Theft Auto 5's online multiplayer mode. This includes events like races, deathmatches and team deathmatches, captures, last team standing, survival, missions, parachuting, gang attacks, hold ups, import export, and losing the wanted level.

Players will need quite a bit of GTA$ and RP in order to acquire all the items from the upcoming High Life Update, so you might want to jump back into the multiplayer soon.
Christ, Rooftop Rumble is going to get werk'd. GTA$37,500 every three minutes...

I wpuld like to put in a long session tonight if nothing comes up. Gotta find headset. My gaming area used to be a little messy and disorganized. Now that I've gotten in to guitars and guitar games, it's a disaster area. I bet it will be covered with dog fur when I find it.

I popped in GTAV for a little bit yesterday just to get my feet wet with it, it's still a lot of fun.

Probably a good idea, although I'd still have a spaghetti tangle of cords.

I guess the plan now is to drive home from work, take care of my dog, then strip down for a nude power nap, get up, shower, get dressed, walk down to the bar to watch the Kentucky Derby, drink whatever drinks I win, then walk home, find my headset, and dominate on GTA V.

Or something like that. Well, it's a plan.

Had a blast fuckin around with Carlo and Drew way in to the night, way later than I remember playing video games for a long time. Massive senseless violence and mayhem, fuck yeah, I was laughing my ass off. The double bonus was also icing on the cake.

Got 4 hours of sleep, but still got up early and went to the gym. The workout and treadmill run went surprisingly well. Good weekend, oh yeah.

Yeah it was odd. NAT issue? Or related to the GTA Online maintenance? It's anybody's guess.

Jester and Sultan RS have been sold. The Jester just didn't do enough to distinguish itself from the Entity XF (short of 100% armor from the rear; a good handler too, actually). The loss of acceleration and top end wasn't enough to justify it, tho'. If I had to start completely over I'd definitely go from the free Elegy RH8 to the Jester. That's a car that will make you money.

The Sultan has been sold in favor of another four-door coupe that does everything the RSIII did, but better. Pics to come...

GTA Online High Life Update Launches on May 13, Brings Luxury Items (http://news.softpedia.com/news/GTA-Online-High-Life-Update-Launches-on-May-13-Brings-Luxury-Items-441075.shtml)

The development team at Rockstar announces that the much-awaited High Life update for the Grand Theft Auto Online experience will be delivered to gamers on May 13 and will introduce high-end new luxury apartments for the game, alongside multi-property ownership, four new vehicles and a new weapon, the Bullpup rifle.

Gamers can now acquire a number of new prime pieces of real estate in the Eclipse Towers, Richards Majestic and other areas, all of them with a new interesting set of interior designs. There are also new vehicles for gamers to acquire when High Life for GTA Online launches: The Enus Huntley S (SUV), Dewbauchee Massacro (sports), Pegassi Zentorno (super) and Dinka Thrust (motorcycle).

Rockstar explains in an official site update that, "The High Life Update also adds 'Non Contact' to the bevy of available Race options, which will allow you to play standard Races with collisions disabled between player's vehicles (other players appear as semi-transparent and you'll still be able to collide with non-player traffic, structures and other scenery)."

At the in-game Ammu-Nation store, gamers can pick up the Bullpup Rifle in order to expand their options both on the attack and the defensive.

The developers add, "the new Mental State player stat shows you just how passive or psychotically unhinged fellow players in your session really are – so you'll know if you need to have it at the ready when they approach. The High Life Update also includes new wardrobe options, vehicle horns and player toasts/celebrations as well as 15 new Jobs - including 5 new Contact Missions."

The High Life update for GTA Online will be free for all those who are playing the game after purchasing GTA V and the developers say that they do not expect any downtime when the new content is deployed, on May 13. The new multiplayer-focused experience has been a success with fans of the franchise and the Rockstar team in charge of it says that it has long-term plans to add more updates that expand the features of the game. At the same time, the company says that it wants to enable gamers to create their own content and that it will continue to explore player-made levels and select the best in order to then promote them to the community.

Rumors suggest that next-gen versions of GTA V will be launched before the end of the year.

Same.

I actually think when heists do come out that after a couple of days everyone will be like 'well, i probably shouldn't have got so hyped up about that, it was great fun but its not the be all and end all after all' or something along those lines.

I'm just a wee bit (okay, more than a wee bit) tired of hearing people go on and on and on about heists. I really do think a lot of people will be disappointed when they eventually do release, purely because they've hyped it up so much themselves.

Maybe i'll be wrong, but still. I love the heist missions in offline, but at the same time i'm in the mindset that if/when the online heists are ready and bug free (which is likely the cause for delay - can you imagine how much worse the complaining would be if it was really buggy?) then thats good, but if they need more time then that is good too.

Plenty more games in the sea to play while i wait.

/mild rant over ;)

At this point, its basically a guarantee. It was one of, if not the main feature of GTA Online when it was announced, it's been teased a bit, and the people want it in a big way. But by the time it finally hits, it'll be ho-hum. Whereas if it was part of initial launch, people would probably quite enjoy it.

Download Grand Theft Auto 5 High Life Update 1.13 Now on PS3, Xbox 360 (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Download-Grand-Theft-Auto-5-High-Life-Update-1-13-Now-on-PS3-Xbox-360-441921.shtml)

Rockstar Games has confirmed that a brand new patch for Grand Theft Auto 5 is now available for download, in the form of update 1.13, also known as the High Life one, as it introduces new real estate options, new cars, vehicles, Rockstar-made jobs, and plenty of new mechanics to the GTA Online multiplayer.

Grand Theft Auto 5 delighted millions of PS3 and Xbox 360 owners worldwide back in September of last year and, since then, developer Rockstar has brought forth a huge amount of different free updates for the game, in order to fix different bugs but also add plenty of new content. The latest one is the High Life update, aka patch 1.13, which brings forth a lot of brand new things to enjoy in GTA Online, according to the Rockstar Newswire.

First up, there are five new apartments for players to purchase, in the form of Eclipse Towers in Vinewood, Richards Majestic in Rockford Hills, Tinsel Towers in Little Seoul, 4 Integrity Way in Downtown, and Del Perro Heights.

Players are also able to store vehicles across the garages of two apartments, and there are three new luxury cars and a great bike included in the new update, in the form of the Enus Huntley S (SUV), Dewbauchee Massacro (Sports), Pegassi Zentorno (Super), and Dinka Thrust (Motorcycle). A brand new weapon, the Bullpup Rifle, is also available in Ammu-Nation stores in-game.

Rockstar has also included in the new update a series of brand new missions made by its team, including eight Contact jobs. They'll go live later today, however, once the Rockstar Social Club website gets updated with the new content.

A few more fresh mechanics are also added by the patch to the game, like a Metal State stat, which will grade players on how much of a danger they are to others and show them on the map with bright red dots. Those with white dots are considered safe and won't immediately try to kill others on sight.

Races can now sport a non-contact option, which will show competing vehicles as ghosts with which a player can't interact.

"Non-Contact Races are now an option. When you create a Non-Contact race, other racers appear as semi-transparent and collisions with them are disabled (although you'll still be able to collide with non-player traffic, structures and other scenery)."

You can also spectate a friend's adventures in GTA 5 and use fresh celebrations, like jazz hands, not to mention don new clothing.

The new GTA 5 patch 1.13 is now available for download on PS3 and Xbox 360.
Rob, Keith O, Wonder & I rolled through a few old missions yesterday to mostly good results.

After KO & Wonder took off, I bought the new Pegassi Zentorno and played around with it for a bit with Rob. It's heavy-feeling, with good speed, decent acceleration -- but it's not a ringer. Easier to handle than the earlier Turismo that was released.

I should mention that I also bought a 2nd property: the 10-car warehouse by the far east-side Los Santos Customs paint 'n' spray (which is where this pic was taken).

The first thing I did was scramble to fill it with all sorts of mundane bullshit: I like to control what cars go where in my garage so by filling each space up with crap, I can then dictate where things should be, whether I've carjacked something interesting or bought something off of one of the websites. Makes for a much more tidy garage. #controlfreak

Then, when you call your Mechanic, you are first presented with a little menu option listing your two garages. Choose one then the car list at that garage opens up.

Also-also, I was driving a car from the new garage but spawned at my original apartment; when I walked outside, even tho' my current garage was full, my new car was sitting on the curb. Heh, this might get interesting. I haven't tried driving a car from my old garage into the new one, yet (will do that tonight).

Certainly all the cars in the game are mashups of some sort but I think it's safe to say the Turismo R should be considered a La Ferrari as it's a Grotti. For me Grotti=Ferrari, Pegassi=Lambo, Vapid=Ford, Benefactor=Merc, Obey=Audi, Albany=Caddy, Ubermacht=BMW, etc.

Bad news for grinding money;

-The following difficulty changes are going to be made to the Mission “Rooftop Rumble”:
~50% of FIB agents present at the start of the mission now have high accuracy.
~Additional FIB agents spawn as players attack the parking garage. The agents spawn in two waves of cars.
~After all the agents on foot in the parking lot and the first wave of agents in cars are killed, the mission will either progress in 30 seconds or require players to finish off all FIB agents.
~The FIB agent carrying the documents Martin wants now spawns in a vehicle as the mission progresses.
Also you now no longer spawn by the car park.

I bought one of the ten car garages by the airport instead of a new apartment (watched a vid on YouTube, and they aren't really worth the money) and put all my 'muscle' cars in there and have all the supercars etc in my apartment garage.

Then spent the last of my money on some cars, including the Koenigsegg, which left me with less than 100k. :(

I believe that you can buy GTA$1,000,000 for $20 USD. #shrug

(After my own car- and garage-buying spree, I'm currently sitting at $2 mil in the bank.)

Also, they've added a lot of new content since launch -- just no Heists yet. :assclown:

EDIT: I should clarify, I have not bought any GTA$. As I've been playing GTA Online a lot more than anyone here (save for possibly Racerfink), I've earned that cash in-game. It's not very hard to rack up $100k a night, even without grinding. ;)

Eh, the changes to the Rooftop Rumble mission are mostly minor:

More accurate FIB agents just help cut down the other asshats that are in the game with me. Also, with the removal of the Package, you can nuke the shit out of the car park with ease. Most players use expensive rockets to do this; I prefer cheap grenades. :assclown:
The FIBbie with the Package is now driving a car. Much like Sergei's repo missions, it can be tricky (and waste lots of time) to run the guy down if you're not Johnny-on-the-spot with the SMG. Do not blow up his car! That will fail out the mission. The one time I died (so far) playing this new updated mission, the remaining kid spent several minutes trying to chase him down. He finally caught up to him near Martin's farm drop point.
You now spawn just down the street from the car park. Your cars are still parked in the same place. No big deal.
The mission still pays out GTA$18,750.

Grind on! :rawk:

Certainly all the cars in the game are mashups of some sort but I think it's safe to say the Turismo R should be considered a La Ferrari as it's a Grotti.
Googling the three cars in question (the Grotti Turismo R, the Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren P1), the Turismo does have the longer/narrower LaFerrari dimensions but its design language is nearly all P1 (with the exception of the trapezoidal headlights).

I blew through my nut last week after all; I wanted to have a lineup of muscle cars in all sorts of vintage-y colors and fully modded (which I now have) but it came at the expense of my savings. I was down to my last $400k after all was said and done. But now that funds are forcing me to get serious about work (and with a variety of fun toys to do said work), I'm back up to over $1.1 mil in the bank and steadily increasing. I've got my Rooftop Rumble run down to just half a minute longer to finish than before the fix, too.

After Reynard's comment about Grotti = Ferrari, I bought a Grotti Turismo R and have done my level best at making it a proper LaFerrari with Grace Red paint, carbon roof, alloy five-spoke rims and no spoiler to try and break the McLaren P1 look. Left the suspension stock and it's a very fun, agile supercar -- significantly more enjoyable to drive than the Pegassi Zentorno, as Rob had said. Pics to come soon, of course...

Heh, if that starts happening, I'll just not give Rockstar money in the future. That'd be a really shitty move by them.

"Oh hey, here's this game, and loads of content we were going to make, but... fuck it, we'll do it on the next gen system, see ya suckers!"

"I'm not a Hipster" update

June 17th, 2014, 05:45 AM
Sounds like a pretty decent update. Not sure that three-axle is much incentive to get to level 100, but it's a start. Looks like some garage shuffling is going to happen soon. I still wish you could save and modify law enforcement vehicles and taxis, though. Would love a modded life guard SUV :D

EDIT: played a little bit at lunch, bought two vehicles... the Pacer copy "Rhapsody" and the 1969 Skyline doppleganger "Warrener" (which is hilariously described as Swedish). The Rhapsody is kind of fun, but the Warrener has some neat customization options. Can't wait to check out the others.

My son did that a few months ago... matte grey, Watanabe rims, even has a plate that says DAJIBAN :D However, clearly the whole 'plate making' concept needs some work.

I will say that the new Blade (Falcon lookalike) looks really sweet with the velocity stacks. Going to buy one of those Pigalle/Citroen SMs tonight and get to work on that.

GTA Online Heists Delayed, Rockstar Apologizes to Players (http://news.softpedia.com/news/GTA-Online-Heists-Delayed-Rockstar-Apologizes-to-Players-447407.shtml)

The development team at Rockstar working on Grand Theft Auto Online announces that it is officially delaying the Heists feature for the video game, which was originally set to be launched before the end of spring, in order to make sure that it is delivering an experience that all fans of the title will enjoy when it is finally available.

The company states, in the comments of the new I Am Not a Hipster update, that, "We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated."

Heists are designed to be complex operations that allow gamers to create a team using their friends and then execute well prepared attacks against high value targets which can deliver plenty of rewards but also involve much risk. The situations are based on those that fans of the series have already experienced in the GTA V single player campaign but there are some new twists and challenges to overcome.

Rockstar adds, "We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can. Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support."

The I Am Not a Hipster update delivers plenty of new content to GTA Online but many fans will be disappointed that they are unable to also experience heists at the moment. GTA Online is set to receive long term support from Rockstar and the company has said that all the content will be offered for free and will include both new events to try out and the tools that the community requires in order to create its own new challenges.

The original GTA V will be launched on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft at some point before the end of the year and the development team has promised better particle effects, improved draw distance and a richer game world to explore. Fans are also speculating that Rockstar Games is at the moment working on at least one major expansion for the open world title which will likely be announced soon and might be delivered in early 2015 on all platforms.

Luckily I still have fun signing on with my friends, but this whole heists (and lack of missions) thing is getting a bit tired. Just tell us that it'll be a next gen console exclusive and get it over with. :P

I god damn ran out of money ffs. I did buy a 10 car garage in the SE quadrant. My fuckin Sanchez 2 vanished for some reason, so I have no dirt bikes. I do have the two free stupid t-shirts (wacking off motion with hand) for logging in yesterday and today.

My bankroll is back up to 16k, still no supercar in my garage though. Thinking about the new smart car with my new garage. Gotta start earning.

Yeah, I'm finding it a little harder to grind away to get to 100, definitely losing interest. However, I'm so tired of Super class races that a race that involves any other class seems like a real treat. And whatever that spec Glendale race is, it's a freaking BLAST.

Irony? (http://kotaku.com/grand-theft-auto-president-buys-a-church-because-why-no-1597816127)

St. Stephens Church in Edinburgh is nearly 200 years old, and until recently was in danger of being sold off and turned into "private flats or a bar-
restaurant complex". Enter Leslie Benzies, president of Grand Theft Auto developers Rockstar North.

A resident of the Stockbridge area where the church is located, it's thought Benzies paid a whopping £500,000 (USD$850,000) for the building, beating out bids from both the local community and property developers.

And he's going to do...well, almost nothing. Benzies' lawyer says it was "an entirely philanthropic purchase", which will mean the famous building will remain a community centre (a function it has been performing for a while now).

"We are delighted that we can help bring the church back to its former glory securing its future whilst providing a renovated local and performing arts centre that will benefit the wider community".

Class act.

Definitely, thank you Obama -- under your watch my life changed and then GTA V came out. :D #missionaccomplished

I jumped back in and went back to the Vapid Sandking XL, heavily modded of course but this time with the stock suspension. Crazily enough, the stock suspension is damn good with the extra power. I do get just a touch more rotation than I'd like so I'm thinking I'll try just the Lowering Springs setting to see if that tightens it up a bit. Otherwise I'm enjoying the hell out of it, significantly more than the first time I beefed one up, in fact.

Helpful tip for the fireworks launcher: use it on stationary vehicles only. If you hit a moving vehicle, they will not remain on fire and explode. And that's no fun.

Also, the Liberator is damn near indestructible.

I was on and saw your tag -- but I got net-split'dd and so just shut it all down for the night.

I've been spending about as much as I've been earning; consequently I'm still at only $1.75 mil and idly tinkering with cars & clothes.

Not really sure how much the game will change w/. Heists, honestly. They're just another multiplayer gametype, IMO. If you don't like the Matrix now, how much is it really going to change for you whenever Heists drop?

Hey peeps.

Even though you may not agree with it, if all of you reading this could please sign my petition and share it around to as many places as possible there might just be a chance that Rockstar take notice. An e-mail gets sent to GTAOnline@rockstargames.com every time someone signs it (apparently).

Having a Friendly Free Roam mode would bring me back to GTA Online, and my siblings/wife too, and it isn't harming anyone, so there's no real reason to oppose it!

Thanks,
Andrew (Facebook name been changed for privacy reasons).

I really wish destruction prices of personal vehicles were a flat rate. I say this because unlike all the Zentorno-driving assholes who you've gotta blow up because you can't shoot out their drivers, I like driving a variety of vehicles. Unfortunately for me, most people don't mind blowing my custom shizz up when it costs them like $400. OTOH, I'm out $9.5k when I nuke a Zentorno.
