So I am always looking for new words to expand my vocabulary and knowledge.

What I am thinking is that only one word per day may be posted. This can be a common word or not, hateful or nice, or just weird. The idea is to expand my vocabulary without using the dictionary one word a day stuff. I want people to try to expand their thoughts while using a new word. I hope this makes sense.

So the rules are going to be simple.

One word a day total. We can go off of greenwich time for simplistic sake. 0000 Greenwich a new word may be posted
Please provide the definition.
and if you are feeling froggy, a sentence in which it is used in.

First word of the thread thanks to Hamilton's recent attitude on track, and Fiat500:

petulance
the quality of being childishly sulky or bad-tempered.
The petulance shown by him is not doing anyone any favors.

Thoughts and opinions?

I'm too petulant to offer a reply about today's word.

Good idea. Perhaps we should see how many ways we can use the word of the day to really challenge ourselves.

Petulant child is petulant?

This is a salubrious thread indeed, but why truncate oneself to only one companionless lexeme per diurnal course?

If we could, perchance, include a veritable agglomeration of said offerings, it would be assuredly, positively, unquestionably, emphatically, firmly and indubitably brobdingnagian.

Sure, why not.

Only condition is that you can't go on Dennis Miller mode for writing a sentence...at first.

If it wasn't for the hebetudinous masses, I would probably be unemployed.
