How to watch live streams (like VipBox) on an iPad?

Can anyone tell me?

I know iPads don't do Flash, but is there any work-around? I'd read that using browsers other than Safari could make it work, but I've tried a half dozen with no luck at all. I use http://www.vipboxna.co/ to watch sports that I can't otherwise view, or when I'm out of the house, but having a laptop everywhere is not always an option. The iPad is always with me, but the streams don't work.

Alternatively, is there anything I could do that would stream my own desktop and view it on my device from elsewhere? I could set up the stream before I leave the house and just leave it running so it's accessible later on from my iPad when I connect to a wifi signal.
