Also seeing the difference in a 2GB R7750 vs 4GB GTX680 (no shock, really) since I'm using the HTPC as an interim waiting for my RMA'd Z97)).

At 2560x1440, the mouse is choppy as hell (to be expected) on the AMD card.

But, the 680 can only go up to 2560x1600. So if I want to use the full res of the monitor, I'll need a new card. But I think the 2560x1440 should suffice.

WHile a 30+ inch monitor would probably be easier to read at full 4k, I couldn't justify the $1600+ price tag. I suppose I could have gotten a 40" UHD TV, but then it'd be a monstrosity on my desk...

I find 30" monitors too much for daily use. They're nice for gaming, but it's just too much looking around at a normal desk distance. Really, 28" is probably slightly too large for my comfort as well, but certainly tolerable.

I've used a 27" or the last two years, so the actual dimensions have virtually no difference. My desk is 6 feet wide, with the 28" on the one end and two 24s for the work laptop.

Since that is with IT, I'm trying to work using my phone and personal box. So I have the 28" and one 24 hooked up to it. First time Ive tried this setup. 2560x1440 + 1920x1200 is pretty fuckin ridiculous. I'm tempted to plug the other 24" screen to it just for shits and giggles.

My 30" Dell w/2560x1600 is awesome for programming and surfing and everything. It's not too much. It's just about right.
