Reading about this, it looks like it may be possible, but is a bit of fucking about.

Ultimately, we're just looking for something to play the classic Mario games/etc from SNES.

I'm assuming there's an emulator, or similar?

WiiU is the only official way ;P

Hmm. Suppose I could set them up on the HTPC, and go that route.

Was trying to find a use for the PS3.

Since I can't sell it, apparently.

LOL. I'm sure someone will buy it. Or else someone will take it off your hands for free.

I gave mine away. Made a nice present for a kid.

Nobody will buy it or you're not allowed?

it's been on CL for 5 months for "$150 OBO"

two"BO" I got (4 months ago) were $50 and $80, "respectively"

So, fuck it, for that, I'll keep it, or donate it to a friend/friend's kid.

When I gave mine away last year it was worth about $100 based on my research. $80 sounds not unreasonable. $150 is high ambition. :(

Yeah well. When I asked a few months ago, peeps here thought $150 was "reasonable".

Guess it depends on who you ask.

Back on topic, I can probably just use the HTPC and emulator, so...

Now I need to find some SNES controllers

Times change fast, and with dropping prices on next-gen machines old ones will fall.

IMHO, for the HTPC I would consider using xbox controllers with an adapter. I think you could also use the ps3 dualshocks, which would cripple your ps3 but save some oop dough. :)

I have one PS3 DS and one 360 controller. Maybe I can geek it up and use both :)
