I posted in Politics thread, but a quick cross-thread comment on Jon Schaffer and Iced Earth.

Jon is in jail awaiting trial and seems Iced Earth is no more.
Pity as they were a band that was still going well, I really liked Dystopia and Stu (ok that was 10 years ago!)
Only standout songs from last couple albums were "If I Could See You Now" and "Clear The Way".
In doing a search I found I posted about seeing them play on Jon's birthday March 15. Well he just had a birthday behind bars.
And to quote Jon's lyrics from Glorious Burden - High Water Mark
It's Over Now, We Are Retreating
I Never Thought That We'd Be Beaten
All This Blood Is On My Hands
The Thousands Dead Due To My Plan
I am responsible, all of this is my fault
I Thought Us Invincible
Is This God's Will After All?
I Look Across This Blood Soaked Land
All This Blood Is On My Hands
God Forgive Me, Please Forgive Me
It's All My Fault, The Blood Is On My Hands

Never got into Iced Earth, but man, there do seem to be a lot of older metal guys going hard-right these days.
-
Yeah you’ve gotta be careful where you tread in the genre these days, although it seems the worst of it is confined to the sphere around Norwegian black metal.
-
There's a fair bit in the nu-metal world too, and Dave Mustaine turned into an absolute lunatic as well.
My wife was pretty heavily into the glam metal scene in Hollywood back in the late 80s/early 90s. From what I gather, a lot of those folks have gone Trumper/alt-right as well.

Back to a good news story...
Clive Palmer, australian wannabe politician and all round rich fkwit, lost his copyright case brought by Universal Music on behalf of Twisted Sister.
He used his own version of Were Not Gonna Take It, changing the lyrics. His defence was a sham, first went with the "but the tune is O Come All Ye Faithful" then went with satire - yeah for a political campaign. And he claimed he just invented lyrics completely independent of the original (but it would still be a copyright tune...)
Anyway he got smacked with 1.5M aussie pesos.

That like asking Elon (oh Elon where art thou?) Musk to donate $100m towards the plight of African diamond mine owners.

Bit of a Gunners feel to it, but slower.
Why do all these bands sound slow and lethargic as they get older?
