Ours basically got annihilated by bugs, as far as we can tell.
The location is terrible, the house is a shoebox, the garage is a bit too small, but dat price tho. What would I do with the rest of my home budget if...
Oh.
I've spent lots of time in Oneida County, but I don't ever recall hearing reports of the Pelican River flooding at least.
I'm honestly considering the house in Racine though. I could put up with living there for 25 years, and a house like that, there isn't a single project 2 guys couldn't complete in a day on it.
Heh, the price of the second one wouldn't even come close to buying the first here.
It has a garage... you just can't get a car to it.
I spent a lot of time up in the Rhinelander area (mostly Tomahawk). It's a nice place to vacation. I never could have lived that far away from a big city, although Wausau has grown quite a bit in the last 10 years.
Having that place in Rhinelander would certainly take the sting out of living in the other house. :D I'm pretty sure I could still fill a 32x48 garage though!
My grandparents had a vacation home on a lake near Rhinelander, in McNaughton. I would always go up there a few times every summer as a kid. It's a great area and one I'd be happy to live in after retirement.
Not being near a big city is the plus for me, tbh.
For a vacation home, definitely. I had a few friends that lived up there. :(
The best camping spot... while not an official 'campsite' is on the willow flowage. It's so remote and quite, it is really amazing. Although I wouldn't want to drive that far more than a few times a year.
Same friend's family had a cottage on Blue Spring Lake, which was much better of a drive. I'd go there every few weeks if possible.
I was mostly looking at land... but there were some decent lake properties between you and Lake Geneva.
I’m meeting a loan officer about mortgage pre-approval at 9am tomorrow.
I guess shit just got real?
Good luck!
