Got my first oval win (Street Stock.) :) It is nice to get after my horrific attempt at ovals yesterday. It was a relatively uneventful race. I wanted to work on my SR, so I was planning to race at the back. However, I was fastest in practice. I tried in qualifying and got P2. I took the lead after a few laps and held it for the rest of the race.

All that time spent in the South is rubbing off on you!

A racing buddy bought me the Dallara IR18 for making him a paint job for the Indy 500. I did a few races at Indianapolis oval this week. Just finished one where I intended to just work in my oval SR and get another race toward my A oval license. After the start, I was just hanging in the draft of the leaders. Several cars wrecked out and I found myself in 5th. I pitted as late as possible, one lap later than the leaders. I pitted and came out still in 1st position! Eventually, someone caught me, but they could not pass because of the aero wash in the corners. He pitted a lap earlier than I did and I came out side-by-side with him. We traded positions a couple of times, but eventually, he was able to take the lead and hold it. Except for that, my Indy experience has been excruciatingly boring. I enjoy Street Stock though.
I have enough races to meet my minimum participation requirements for license promotion. I just need to get my SR above 4.

I have very briefly started my oval career. Those Legends cars are FUN. I want to race trucks as they seem like they're a good time.
-
I enjoy the trucks, but the racing is rough. Lots of bashers. :| The secret is to not slide too much. If you race rookie trucks, the sets are fixed, but you can adjust brake bias. Set it to about 50% and map a button for the handbrake for tight corners.

VRS GT Enduro was at COTA this week. Tim and I normally just do the Sunday session. We did the Saturday session this week, just because we were available. Saturday, we did our usual three-stop strategy, but noticed several cars doing a two-stopper. We had a bit of trouble and finished 22nd. Sunday, I suggested we try a two-stop strategy, with me doing the first and third hour. Normally, we split the driving 50/50, but Tim humoured my experiment. I had reasonable pace and brought the car from twelfth on the grid to fifth before the first round of pit stops. Tim had a great drive and was fighting for fourth before the second stop. I got back in the car and eventually brought the car home in third. That is equal to our best finish in the series and our best finish this season. :) I streamed it if you want to check it out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iVEfBeXkjc
It was good to get a fifth-in-class finish at the 'Ring enduro also.

GT Enduro at COTA with a good finish? Hell yes I'm going to watch it!
Dangit, I don't have my trivia shows for the week yet.

Reported a driver for using a homophobic epithet at me after I wished everyone well before the race. :smh:
