Thought of the day: If the muscle car guys are always talking about "There's no replacement for displacement" when discussing smaller engines making power with superchargers or turbochargers...why do top fuel dragsters use superchargers? wouldn't they be better off with just a bigger engine?

They are huge engines with forced induction on top. They would argue that it is both forms of making power. The counter argument is that they could have made the engine even bigger. It becomes circular. No one enjoys it.

Also, the engines are class limited to 500 cubic inches of displacement.
