Those pull up style handles were terrible on the '80s GMs. Not only were the functional parts of the mechanism made of pot metal which became structurally marginal below roughly 25* f, but the part you grip was shallow enough that you could only fit the pads of your fingers under, which could be a really irritating issue with gloves on.

Are wide turns a thing now?
This year I noticed a lot of people slowing down considerably and pulling over to the side as if they're double parking, they the turn in.
Wtf, we're taking about passenger cars making normal turns but leaving more than a car's width on the inside.
Oh, they don't use their turn signals either.

Found the Mitsubishi Mirage has the pull up door handles still, but I'm not really surprised

Anybody else noticing people stopping far behind the stop line at intersections? I swoop in on my motorcycle and say "thanks, i'll take that space." But some people are leaving a cars length in front of them.

They've been painting a stop line half a car's length before the crosswalk here.

Anyone else feel like salting the roads and parking lots has gone wayyyyyy overboard? We had less than an inch of snow 5 days ago and now a lot of roads are white from the salt. (was just going to look for a non-beater car, but what's the point).

Yeah, they were going nuts with the salt the week between Christmas and New Years.

Agreed. It's like they are trying to use up the excess salt form the past few years.

Same thing here, since the ~1 inch we got just before xmas, the roads around look like the planet Crait in the Last Jedi.

Oregon (sort of) joins the rest of the normal people in the U.S. (except New Jersey) and allowing people to pump their own gas...and people are losing their minds

Lol. I never have to pump my own gas in HK, but when travelling I just do it. Favourite part is paying for (relatively) cheap gas in the US by credit card and entering my postcode as 90210.
