That's a crazy good price DSM. Would a manual have made you feel any different? I haven't driven the Fiat version but the ND Miata is pretty darn good. RWD is the bestest really. What felt clumsy about the Gen Coupe? I autocrossed one years ago with mild prep (sway bar, shocks, alignment, good tires) and it was definitely fun. They're a surprisingly big car despite looking like a normal sports coupe.

Cuda: Manual would make me happier but it wasn't a deal breaker. I took the Gen Coupe on a test drive many years ago. I think it's like when people recommend a movie like it's the greatest movie ever and you finally get to watch it, it gets hard to live up to expectations. I thought RWD would be epic but on city streets I didn't really push it. It didn't help that I had a few people in the car and the car generally felt heavy.
I really like the ND chassis. It was surprisingly comfortable, I liked being closer to the ground and the size of the car felt 'right'.

I guess why not?
But it does seem a pretty desperate move.
