The autonomous incident got me thinking about weird driving scenarios, and reminded me of one here in Miami
There's an intersection right after an overpass downtown, that when coming from that side, you cannot see the light until right before the intersection, because the angle of the high lights and low overpass. If it's red and you're travelling the speed limit, you basically have to slam on the brakes, if you even notice it since there is another light only about 30m further on. So you're driving under the overpass, see the second light, and start to focus on it, then bam, there's a red light right above you. I think I ran it once before I knew it was there.
With situations like that here, they have a "stoplight attend, prepare to stop when flashing" light in a highly visible area ahead of it.

Yeah we have those here too, but not in this are. I presume because there is a light every block basically, it'd be a bit ridiculous.
