    Just got an email- Hacker tried to access my account

    origin IP is in the Ukraine:



    Dear MR2 Fan,

    Someone has tried to log into your account on GTX Forums with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

    The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 188.163.79.166

    Sorry, I've been in the field and not able to take care of this.

    --

    There's nothing I can do on the vBulletin side--IP bans only block someone from registering.

    I've submitted a help ticket to our hosting provider inquiring if they have had any other reports of similar behavior and whether it is possible to block that IP at the server level.

    If they really wanted to get in couldn't they just make their own account?

    It's not like we have sensitive information here (except for the stuff shared by our more sensitive types).
