Is there a secret base in the middle of Australia? There's a sudden concentration of people in the middle of nowhere in the dead center.

If you don’t know it you’ve obviously been living under a giant rock.

It actually took me a minute to figure it out - I thought "Can't be Alice Springs, that's way too small to show up like that." Then, "Nope, it can only be Alice Springs." Funny how a population of 25,000 appears huge when surrounded by absolutely nothing.
Billi, RWA is referring to Alice Springs (the town in the center of the map) being the closest major town to Uluru (formerly Ayers Rock).

The other funny thing is yes, there is a secret base right where that dot is which is a joint facility run by the CIA, NSA and NRO.

Oh no. Couldn't be the Thunderbirds. They were on a tropical island. Supercar, maybe? No. They were in the Nevada desert.

Record hottest day in Adelaide today - 46.2°C (115.2°F). 7:30pm and it's still 42 at my place.

There was once I went to work in Burbank and it was 117F. There were a few times I drove through the California desert when it was 120F+.

After one of our Yosemite hiking trips, we drove through the Owens Valley and stopped for lunch in Bishop, CA:
