Well, got me an LG Roboking. Seemed like a good deal at $300 off.

I think the LG one is way more sophisticated than Roombas. Let us know how you like your new pet robot.

The coolest part when I was playing with it last night was when it ran out of batteries (I didn't give it much of a charge) in the loungeroom and it went straight back to its dock to recharge:
This is the one:

Told you it's smart!
So how much does this one cost?
On Amazon in US it'd set me back around $600~$700!

Yeah it was not cheap - AU$700, reduced from $1,000.
Looks like I need to make some house-adjustments though - there's two doors it can get in behind and shut, trapping it in those rooms. HAHAHA!!

Sounds like our 16-month-old baby.
*faint knocking on bedroom door as baby asks politely to be let out of room that he shut himself into*

You know, I can remember at least one 911 call of somebody worried about a baby alone and in distress and it turned out to be a cat making noise.

Well the vacuum is doing its thing now as per its daily timer. It's quite mesmerising actually - I just followed it around for half an hour trying to figure out what was going on inside its little robot head. You can tell when it realises its done an area though, which is pretty cool, because it turns around and burns off, back to where it was before and then resumes doing its zig-zag thing.

So I've been following it for pretty much an hour now today while it does the whole house. It seemed to miss two areas - half the main bedroom and half the dining room, which are pretty much opposite corners of the house. Sure enough though, after finishing it's main pattern it made straight for the bedroom and finished off the other half of that, then it took a friggen racing-line all the way through the house to do the dining room! Now it seems to be finishing off other small areas that it thinks its missed, and I reckon it'll be finished and head for home in a few minutes.
