With the offset? I've got the swapped hats already, so I'll probably skip those.

95 were offset. 96+ are the center holed all rubber. Extremely durable and no increase in nvh.

BMW passed smog by the skin of its teeth, again. *whew* 55ppm HC @ 15mph, max allowed is 55ppm.

Can't argue with that!
How sad is it that car people in California get so excited about this event?

Less than a year until I have to get my vehicles smogged again. Time sure flies!

There's a good looking (in pictures) 99 Miata sport package for sale in GA on one of my other boards. Hmm. Already has Konis (though two need service) and bumpstops and a front swaybar. Hmm. Also has AC and PS, which were options at the time. Hmmm.
Anyone driven an NA and NB back to back? Do they feel similar?

I am probably not qualified to answer this, but in what way?
I drove (beat on) my friend's '01 (maybe '02) 1.8l 6-speed and his wife's '96ish automatic literally back to back. it was very hard to get any enjoyment out of hers, but it was better than his old 1.6l automatic was on account of a 10+% displacement bump. Hard to say what the real driving advantages of the newer car were vs. the older, because the older was so slow and so hard to push in any meaningful way.
I still like the styling of the OG Miata the best, but the interior on the facelift NBs is almost worth the price of admission IMHO.
I've never driven an NC, I've never driven a manual NA, and I've never driven a prefacelift NB. I have some test driving to do!
