I'm of the mindset now, that I will pretty much take a 3080 or 6900xt, whichever is available first.
That will then dictate the rest of the upgrade.
3080 = Z490+10850K
6900XT = X570 + 5900X
I may take a stab at water cooling too, haven't done that in the 30 years I've been dicking around with this shit.

That radiator is fuckinginormous. You can put nine 140mm fans on it, on each side. NINE! EACH SIDE!

Just buy a 2nd-hand intercooler from a crashed WRX and be done with it.

AMD GPU benchmarks are coming in.
The 6800XT is line-ball with the 3080, but the 3080 is the winner because it’s native ray tracing performance is much better, and on too of this it has DLSS.
AMD NEEDS to get their competing function rolled out as soon as possible.

Still haven't been able to find an RTX 3080 that's not being resold by a scalper, but just saw one for under $1,000 for the first time. Hoping maybe in the next few weeks that supply will catch up some more.
Yep. Not holding my breath for one until after the start of the year.
I'm pretty much set on an 5900X, and then whichever GPU is available first.
