Drew you said 3090Ti and I immediately went, "Wait, what? The new cards have been announced already?" thinking you were talking about the 40xx series.

September of every even numbered year is usually the announcement time. That's only 5 months away. Why would anyone go for a 3090Ti now?

Exactly. Even if they announce a 4XXX series, I'm not budging. I went from a 680 to a 1080 to a 3090. I have no issues skipping a couple steps between upgrades. Until they announce the 5090 with 30GHZ 48gb ram and 10000 cuda cores, I'm good.

I've a 3080 Ti, and not a shitty founder one, but one of the best customs out there along with the TUF by Asus, so no bloody way I may be interested in the stupidest GPU ever.
4000? I'm going to be interested in a new GPU by the time the 5000 or 6000 are going to be out.

I think most people are in that boat, like I think most of us are with phones - regularly skip a generation when upgrading.

I am excited to see where this whole path-tracing thing goes though, the demos they've shown look pretty damn impressive.

Well I’m in the market for a new GPU this year. I think my 2070 is faulty because games are crashing more regularly with a ‘waiting for frame buffer to drain’ issue.

Zero interest in any new card now or even in 2-3 years. I only play at 3440x1440p Ultrawide so my 3080 is great for me. Plays anything and everything I throw at it at 100+FPS which is the max refresh of my monitor. G-Sync limits me to Nvidia cards and I have the white thing going on right now so won’t be changing for anything until 2024 or later.

I'm going to wait for the 4xxx series, and ETH 2.0, to launch before I even consider buying anything.

I just traded in my Note 8 from 2018 for the S22 Ultra OMFG Bank Raper Edition® (because, Employee discounts kick ass). I'm out of the phone market for the next few years.

I bought 2 used 3070s (less than a year old, in ana ircond room) off a friend who has used them for mining. Total cost usd640.

One is in the work 12700. The other one is too long for my 6700k as the hard drive cage is in the way.

I think a full IT rejig may be in order. I am considering getting a Macbook Pro 14 for work and moving the 12700 home to use for gaming and so on. Something also needs to be hooked up to the 75" TV. But if I can use steam link or geforce now on the macbook then why wouldn't I just do that and keep the 12700 in the study for photo editing and h4rdcor3!1!!!?!? gaming?
