I've given well over 10 million spacebucks in charitable donations in the last week. It's an easy way to earn rep.

I think I'm at about 100mil in donations this week. Two ranks to go, then I can get any ship in the game. Sitting at 520M in the bank with about 198M in missions to complete (loaded up on "massacre" missions, so I'll gain an ass load of rank too).

They just had a new update a couple days ago, which I think neutered the donation missions (in quantity). Before the update, I was seeing 10-15 per faction per log in (switching modes). Now, You're lucky to find 1 or 2 mission every 3rd log in. At the same station, same factions, and same "state" (civil war).

There's some other things I'd like to try out (the alien artifact thing, go to Sol (now that I have the permit)), exploration type stuff, after this rank stuff is done.

Holy hell. I just jump randomly around and do missions, but they are never worth more than 100,000 Cr. I guess I just have not earned enough faction rep to get the more valuable missions.

However, I never do go-kill-people missions. Heck, I don't even do the transport slaves missions. My morality is too high to do that, even in a game.

I have no scruples in a game. I transport narcotics/slaves, kill people en masse... It's my thing

Even if you're just mining/trading (non-perishables), getting friendly or allied with a faction greatly increases the payout.

Some of the smaller sight-seeing missions are pretty $ as well. You can take one that can be done in 20 minutes and get 5-15M, depending on your status with the offering faction. Most involve fly to [x] scan beacon, then fly to [y], repeat. Some are only 1 or two, some are 4-5 with 100-300ly legs between. But with an Asp, is less painful, because of the longer jump range.

Yeah, I have an Asp Explorer. Most of the passenger missions were restricted to me because I need to be friendly with that faction. The problem is, I never stay in one place long enough to build much rep.

Ah, well, as soon as I'm done camping out at the 4-5 systems (rotate through them as they go to war), I'm going to start a voyage.

I may even take up mining. I've got a Cutter sitting in storage begging for some kind of use. 750T of cargo is just stupid.

Nice. I just bought a Corvette. Which I will try for a while, then probably start over with nothing...

Focusing more on exploration in this one.

Suppose I don't have to start over, but, what the hell.
