The gameplay is obviously both "good enough" and "extremely profitable" -- adding the SW overlay will only increase profitability.
Add in a Light/Dark meter based on open world public behavior (and contact mission decisions) and garages for your Speeders, Airspeeders, Starships and Swoop Bikes... seriously? You're not interested??
They're good enough for plenty of people to enjoy them, but I only play it because of the friends that will only play it, and I don't enjoy it nearly as much as playing a more straightforward game that focuses on its actual gameplay.
And no, I'm not interested in Star Wars vehicle garages when all the vehicles handle poorly and the thing I really want, Jedi gameplay, isn't good, either. I want to live out my Jedi Master fantasies, not my random smuggler delivering 30 space MacGuffins so I can unlock the gold paintjob for my speeder.
Don't get me wrong, that game would be incredibly popular and profitable, but I'm not that interested in it.
Respawn is, AFAIK, fully independent, they just have a publishing deal with EA. You can't really see them getting into bed with Activision again?!
