Not terribly. All the fast cars from that era were ~300hp/~3000lbs. It wasn't until the late '90s that 300hp was a thing many people could afford. Then all you needed was an Eclipse and a VAFC and you were set.

High 13s in the quarter was pretty damn quick back in 1990.
Then, a few years later, the LT1 4th gen F-bodies came out, and affordable cars started getting legitimately fast again.
