I’ve just purchased some Ram Mount-style things to attach my shifter, following this guy’s example: https://m.imgur.com/gallery/eF1DI

But I bought the bar mount off Banggood and a double socket (ooh-err) off eBay that came with a VESA plate on top. I still haven’t used my shifter, and it’ll be another week before the bits arrive, so I might get a length of wood (ooh naughty) and just clamp it under the wheel to temporarily mount the shifter and do it proper cheap racer boi style for now. That way I can get my hands onto my knob sooner.

Once that’s done I’ll finally be able to hard mount the wheel and run the cables properly. Might get some extension cables for the USB to make it neaterer and tidierer. In the mean time, I’m expecting my shifter mod to arrive soon, and the next bit will be installing a taller gear lever.

A look through some of my livery work so far. I have so many ideas I don't really know what to do next.

A livery based on the old Toyota 2000GTs that Carroll Shelby raced in SCCA

One of the early Viper GTS-R schemes, also a throwback to the green and white Viper in Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2

Followed up with the factory SRT Vipers. This one is not quite finished, need the Ultra on the reverse side and a few more logos I'll need to create

How are you finding the livery editor? My first impressions were pretty glowing, but I’m annoyed by the lack of precise control and being able to group layers to copy/paste. I think we will start to see some great stuff when the image upload function goes live.

I've never used an in-game editor before so I can't fully judge, but I have small gripes. Having the hood be a seperate element can be difficult on cars like the Viper where you're trying to put a logo on the side of the car, the warping is frustrating. Only having one font style is incredibly stupid. Not having the ability to lock rotations of decals into 45 or 90 degree angles is also frustrating. Logos that are only colored or only black or white. And I really don't like that you can only set all decals to gloss, semi-gloss, or matte without being able to mix and match, especially when applying to metallic or pearl paint. It makes layering difficult if you do anything other that Solid paint and Matte decals.

I still think a color sampler tool would be wonderful as well.

Forgot to take these screenshots off my thumb drive, it's another tribute livery. Based on Trust Racing's Porsche 962

I hadn't seen the points system explained anywhere for GT Sport's FIA Championships. It appears to be based on some kind of strength of field algorithm. I thought it might take total race time into account to compare across concurrent races, but it doesn't seem to. I completed a Mfr race last night with a total time of 20:14 and change, and got about 460 points winning my race by ~10s. A couple other GTA guys won their races, too, and got significantly more points - even one guy whose total race time was about 10s slower. The other guy got somewhere around 1400 points. He had a close race (and he's fast). So I think the people you race with has a lot to do with it. And also maybe driver rating. I'm still a B/S driver.

I netted "Promise of Greatness" on mission number 46.

I think it has been the easiest mission to get close, so I kept plugging away at it, and in 25 minutes or so I had it.

I'll try to figure out how to upload the replay for ya'll

I learned something interesting today. When practicing or qualifying for the Manufacturer race at Interlagos, I could go 4 wheels below the white line next to pit entry to take a shorter line on the front straightaway. In the race, I got a ~2 second penalty for a less severe track limits infraction there. I had to give up the lead because of it. I probably would have finished 2nd anyway - the Corvette driver was very good and that car had an edge on the straights over my M4.
