    Nothing stops you from driving around without them. You just have the light on your dashboard all the time.

    Not sure if it impacts your inspections or not.

    I didn't get TPMS sensors on my first set of winter wheels for my Mazdaspeed3 because they were new and expensive in 2008 (something like $360 for a set, IIRC).

    If you park close enough to your stock wheels each morning, and then drive less than ~20 miles, the TPMS light doesn't go on.

    But yeah, it's just a light (and a ding! from the info center). Unlike some cars that go into limp mode... (!!)

    Should I just assume that the cars that would go into limp mode are German?

    I feel like that causes more danger than the TPMS is supposed to prevent...

    I have heard the stability control on the C7 includes tire pressures in its calculations, perhaps any limp modes would be related to that.
