That's a laugh for novi, not at Mr. Frey's expense.
I loved the early Eagles material when I dug a bit deeper than their greatest hits a few years back. They were pioneers of the California "country-rock" sound that I like so much, along with bands like The Byrds from '68 on, the Flying Burrito Brothers, CSN, the Grateful Dead, and surely heavily influenced later bands in the alt.country genre, like The Jayhawks, to name just one.

Plus Jackson Browne and my favorite female singer, Linda Ronstadt.
It's funny I just rewatched The Eagles Documentary the other day. As Glenn said in the Documentary, " Poeple did things to Eagles music". And that is so true. I have such fond memories of taking trips with my parents in our 77 Dodge Van and hearing The Eagles be the soundtrack. Along with many other bands of that era.
My favorite Eagles song is Seven Bridges Road. As you stated George, their early songs with the harmonies was just fantastic.
