Drove to Rhode Island for the week-end for a wedding; 900 miles one way. We broke up the first day by staying in Baltimore, but we came home in one sitting; 14 hours of straight driving. Ugh.

I am both looking forward to being home in a few days and not looking forward to the ~21 hours of travel time to do it.

Suitcase was awesome. Global Entry was even better. The best was having someone at my company who has Israeli government training to pre-clear you through Ben Gurion.

My previous experience was lots of searching, swabbing, and interrogating. This time, it was more like "Oh, I didn't realize it was you, Mr. Nilsen. Please, head right this way towards your plane."

Cool. NEXUS card is better; half the price with the same Global Entry benefits. You barely have to slow down at the US/Canada border.

I think you get Nexus as part of Global Entry, or at least they treat them the same. Annoyingly, still had to go through TSA security when transitioning from TLV->YYZ to YYZ->LAX, and there was no TSA Pre-Check line, but the actual passport control/customs was a breeze and was labeled as "Global Entry / Nexus".

Also, very surprising that the security transitioning to a US bound flight in YYZ was significantly more annoying than transitioning to an Israel bound flight.
