Have you tried the mobile phone version of Gear Club? I urge you to do so before thinking about splashing any cash for the Switch version.

Actually...yeah, I think I did. I'm watching a video of it right now, and the menu system looks familiar. I don't remember if it was any good, I presume it wasn't, but I'm hoping they actually try to improve it for a Switch release. They have to tweak all the free-to-play bits anyway.

I think it's a totally underwhelming racing game, for a console that's possibly more powerful than Xbox 360 or PS3, from a developer that made one of the more ambitious early X360 open world racing games.
I'm hoping and pleading to the game gods that the Switch doesn't end up with a load of mobile ports. There are already a few.
I'm hoping that the Switch gets good mobile ports in addition to great console ports. The reality is it's just far easier and makes much more sense economically to upgrade a "AAA" mobile game (or whatever you want to call a high-end game designed for ARM processors) than to downgrade a PS4/PC/XBox One game that runs on x86, or to try and convert a PS3 or 360 engine and build a new game on it.
This is especially true when you're talking about a type of game that hasn't historically done well on Nintendo consoles, to my knowledge. If there's ever been a hit "simulation" racer on a Nintendo console, I don't know about it. Maybe Need for Speed-type "arcade" games have done ok?

A version of Race Driver: GRID was released on Nintendo DS. Wowzers.
SPA WAS IN A NINTENDO DS GAME?!

Looks very primitive. Almost N64 era.
Here's a thing I saw real quick this morning, which I haven't looked into yet:

Apparently they're out on PS4 and PC.
I now have a Switch, with Mario X-Com coming today. Good times
Bought Mario + Rabbids this morning... the beginning movie is very Pixar/Dreamworks esque
Haven't actually played though, since work, etc.
