When it rains it fucking pours.....

Had an interview yesterday (won't go into details of whom, but it's telecom/wireless), think it went great. In fact, I was told by the recruiter the interviewer "liked you".

Then fast forward to today, the company I worked for last fall, is starting a new project, and I was name dropped all over the place...


Both are probably the same pay scale, one is remote (home), the other (from yesterday) is an office-only, but the office is only 10 minutes from home.


So, fuck.... I suppose it's a "good" predicament to be in.

I find it hard to believe anything is 10 minutes from your home. Fucking traffic.

10 minutes here is 7-8 miles.

10 minutes in Chicago is 7-8 blocks, fuck that whole-heartedly.

That is the ONLY thing I miss about it. I once drove the Mustang to work, 21 miles one way. At the time, premium was $4.50/gallon, and the math was simple, 7 miles per gallon in city shit (a commuter it was not) = $13.50 one way. I then decided that as fun as it was to get it out of the stable, it wasn't $30/day fun, to sit and have the only thing move on it be the fucking gas gauge (and temp gauge! nothing like sitting in traffic, seeing 98° on the bank clock, and you're sitting there with the windows down and the heat on full blast so you don't have a shiny red tea kettle)).


...and thanks gents. No word yet on either (truth be told, I have an "interview" tonight at fucking Home Depot for freight/delivery ($11/hr, something to do other than jerk off, well, I guess I'd be getting paid $11/hr to jerk off)).
