I think we'll see a more powerful option soon enough, as it seems Toyota themselves are hinting at it. Doug Demuro said that according to the Toyota rep he was speaking to, a lot of the vents , etc. are designed to be accessible to be opened up by aftermarket companies....or....Toyota themselves.

I do think they should have designed their own interior, having it 98% BMW makes the shared platform seem much more like a re-badging effort.

Edit: BTW, I think the vents being closed is silly

I'm hoping they'll introduce a 6-spd version and I'm interested to see what body kits come out for it, as I'm not 100% into the styling yet.

I feel like body kits are mostly not done anymore, but I think they're probably still a thing in Japan

The funny thing about the "vents made for tuners" is that at least some of them go over metal, which doesn't have pre-cuts, so you have to cut anyway.

Lots of the criticisms might also be alleviated just by changing what someone touches or sees. The Supra shares seat frames with the 2-Series Grand Tourer but it has custom foam and covers and everyone likes the seats because they weren't apparent as being from a BMW.

    https://www.geeky-gadgets.com/dyno-s...medium=twitter

The folks over at Car & Driver took a 2020 Toyota Supra over to a dyno to give it a turn and see what sort of power the car puts out. It decided to do this after testing showed the car could run 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and run the quarter mile in 12.3 seconds at 113 mph. Toyota and BMW have a history of underrating their cars.

Typically when you run a car on the dyno, you expect to see less power than the ride is rated at the crank due to drivetrain losses. The Supra is rated at 335 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque at the crank. The dyno shows that the Supra made 339 hp at the wheels and 417 lb-ft of torque.
