I don’t understand how come there were so many drivers losing control going into the pit. Seemed way more than usual? Newly paved slippery surface or indicative of skills of drivers?

Also, I guess Bottas had it good. I’d rather have a stuck machined nut than losing a freaking wheel going 200mph!!!

Anyway, I only saw the 5 minute race highlights! Not sure if I could sit thru the entire 500 miles even if it is shown in US time zone.

I've been watching the half-hour length race recaps posted a few days after each race on YouTube. Today I sat down to soak up the two races from the Detroit Grand Prix, and they have turned it up a notch! This is vintage IndyCar racing of the sort that I grew up with

Apparently Grosjean is now collecting fire department t-shirts because fans are gifting them to him.

    Music City GP.

I find it unwatchable. The track layout is so prone to a cluster.

Watching it live while taking a day off work.
The track is a bit Formula E in places, seems rather tight for these big cars.

    And come on Dixon!

Overconfident, over aggressive. He'd burned up his tires coming through the field, and was pushing just as hard to try to catch Ericsson but the tires didn't have it in them anymore.

Honda OK with move to Hybrid Systems in IndyCar for 2023.

With IndyCar employing a third-party – as yet unannounced – to build the hybrid system, so it’s common to the forthcoming 2.4-liter V6 twin-turbo engines of both Honda and the Chevrolet, HPD’s input to the unit will be negligible. However, Salters insisted that was not a frustration even for a technology-driven company such as Honda.

“Well, we’re helping,” he said. “It’s in everyone’s interests to make it work.

“And you know, there’s lots of sourced technology, and so a lot of it is about applying it and integrating it, making it work together. You could arguably say that’s some of the challenge.
