Seemed like I should probably switch threads for this. After that 5 1/2 hour interview process, it's now official that I got the job. Matched my pay at the last company but with a better title. I tentatively start on 11/9, but they're apparently having troubles sourcing laptops so it's possible I might not start until 11/16. My severance carries me through the end of November, so I'm not particularly worried if it takes an extra week.
Weirdly, this is the first time since 2001 where I've gotten a job at a place where I've never worked with anyone there before. Every job since I left Stamps back in '07 has been me joining up with someone I've worked with previously, which usually either gets me through some of the interview process and occasionally gets me through the entire interview process. I don't ever want to go through an interview process like that again, but I suppose it's nice to know that I can land a job without needing to use my connections, and assuming I don't embarrass myself I'll have an even wider net of connections for the next gig.
So happy for you mate!
Both for killing the interview process and for bitching about the original severance.
acket.
No longer feel like an imposter I presume?
Congrats!

Get that weak shit off my track
Thanks! With everything that's happened this year, it was a mantra for me that "at least we're both still employed." I'm very relieved to be able to say that again.
