Early in 2018, I felt like it was going to be my year. While I had some success, I did not feel like I did as well as I hoped. However, 2019 is starting out promising. I sold several pieces in the last month after having a dry spell. In fact, I just received a new order today. I've had numerous Instagram videos get over one million views each, which helped me approach 50K followers so far! I have many videos yet in the queue I can post to Instagram. My YT numbers are on the upswing as well, but still not enough to earn ad revenue. I have a theory that my subscriber count will jump after I get over the threshold for making ad revenue. YT is not financially interested in promoting videos they can't make money on. I feel like once YT can show ads over my videos, I will be promoted more. It's tough as a small channel to get promoted, as YT promotes channels that are already popular. As Lori says, "The rich get richer."
Just yesterday, I was featured on George Takei Presents on Facebook.
Ultimately, the social media is just a means to an end. I am simply trying to sell art and entertain.

Wait, are you calling me a sell-out or encouraging me to sell-out?
The goal was always to sell art. I will not get any money from the Takei feature.

Just teasing. I know you're working hard and will get over that threshold soon.
Art at as occupation has always been interesting to me. Where creativity turns into livelihood and the internal conflicts that must occur. Like a race car driver that is just tired of turning laps and is having as much fun as I am in my cube at work.

I consider myself to be very lucky to have my wife encouraging me to do this. I would not be where I am now without her wonderful support.
Being a full-time studio artist is a tough go. Normally, you have to struggle for years before you make it to a point where you can earn a living from it, if you ever do.

So, on grounds of artist starving. I feel Social Media has changed that. Sure there are still those that suffer and fail, later to be recognized. However, I feel the speed at which art can be shared has speed up so much, it Garner's access and views faster.
Dude, I am super happy for you. I really am. Best of luck the gig continues to build, and you maintain your individuality.

Today, I was invited to a couple of comic cons. This week keeps getting zanier.
