Interesting thought. He inherited the TAB Superbowl team, as well as several other scenarios. Is he THE coach? Maybe. What I do know, is he has as much power over the raiders until 2028, as bellichek does the pats.

    Let that sink in.

Ok, I do understand he inherited the super bowl team, but it wasn't a super bowl team until he got there. Tony Dungy as much as I think is an amazing coach didn't have the toughness I think was needed at that time. Also, Jon Gruden got his Raiders very close before that...and they did get to the super bowl the year he was in TAB, so he "inherited" one team, but basically made the other.

I think his record speaks for itself:

2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL 12-4 Super Bowl Champions with Tony's team
2003 Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL 7-9
2004 Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL 5-11
2005 Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL 11-5
2006 Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL 4-12
2007 Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL 9-7
2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL 9-7

I'll be genuinely surprised if he's still coaching two years past their move to Vegas.

I'm really happy to have him out of the booth though.

Understood, but this was also the time the Glazers spent way too much money buying Manchester United and didn't spend any money on the Bucs.

Maybe. But the Raiders are one Carr broken leg away from obscurity.

And Gruden is supposed to be the God-coach, molding young men into gallant football warriors one superlative at a time. Instead he took three seasons to get a SB winning team back to the playoffs.

I'm not trying to piss on your parade specifically, I've just been hoping he would get hired as a coach so he can be exposed for the fraud that he is. And it's finally here. I wouldn't care so much if he wasn't such a condescending butthole on MNF, now he needs to back it up. And he won't.

The Saints-Vikes fourth quarter was incredibly entertaining. The NFL has been having at least one great game every week
The Gruden posts for me thinking, there are no really bad or really annoying commentators in the league...
...and then I saw the Fox game and got reminded of Joe Buck.

I'll actually miss Gruden in the booth. And there's been so much hype and fanfare tied to his name and college job searches... now that he's finally taken a job, he will never be able to live up to it, I feel.
