"Star Trek: Omnibus" conjures up an interesting picture for a space craft.

Web searches suggest Doctor Who once had something like that. Unfortunately it leads to pinterest.

Or, still starring Captain Samuel L. Jackson, of course, but before the snake menace begins...

Sorry to keep going here, but it's all SportWagon's fault.

I've been a Star Trek fan since the mid 1970s, when ST was in syndication five nights a week at 7:00 PM. I had to go out on the deck with a pipe wrench and turn our ground-mounted antenna toward the signal of ABC channel 22 to bring in reception on our black & white TV, and it was damn well worth it.

That's where I learned about not putting one's tongue on a metal pole in the winter in Vermont. I had heard about it and just had to try.

Anyway, let me just say that the latest episode (ep 9) of Star Trek Continues (you can probably guess the website address) was a pretty good one. Classic Trek all the way, and that means some AWESOME! and some well, that's okay because that's how the original series was too. They almost have a Get Out Of Jail Free card in that regard, since so many of the (especially later) Star Trek episodes were so mediocre.

But seriously, they're doing good work, and for free! Careful viewers will find lots of amazing detail in these shows, as if serious ST nerds were making it, which they are. I watched the latest episode on my PC and a few scenes made me rewind because they were so cool. I'll post just one screen shot. Check out this bridge shot, which I don't recall seeing in the original series but this was a common "camera" angle in the 1970s animated series:

    STC ep 9.jpg

Well, I can't explain why that picture is so small. I took the screen shot on a 27" monitor at 2560 x 1440 but it's tiny now. I miss Photobucket! Anyway, check out Star Trek Continues if you're in the mood for Retro minus the Reboot.

It's ok, you're a part of our culture and not Starfleet, mate.

I vaguely remembered that..., but who cares about the Rock?

I just want more 7 of 9's, or Jadzia Dax characters regardless of past reboots or future developments!

As for Deanna Troi, I kinda had a love/hate attitude toward her... yeah, I think she's kinda sexy, but there's just something about her that seems off to me. Not really sure what it is... maybe she just wears too much make up?
