Follow-up with the cardiologist this afternoon. EKG and BP are looking better than when I checked out of the hospital, so that's good. Apparently they don't do full-scale testing like cholesterol, echocardiogram, etc, until 90 days after the incident so that the rehab and meds have time to work and the patient isn't bombarded with scary-seeming numbers.
Anyway, I guess things are going well in that they said to keep doing what we're doing.

I had my 6 month cardiology followup this morning, and the short version is - I'm all better!
With the diet changes, quitting smoking, and medication my cholesterol (and associated) bloodwork is great - the Dr. said I was in "the range of a healthy 30 year-old" which was fun to hear because - like all of us at this point, I am much older than that.
My ejection fraction, which is loosely a measure of how efficiently the heart is pumping- and how damaged it is, went from ~40% when I checked out of the hospital to 61% today (healthy/normal range is from 50-75%).
Subsequently, I have been medically cleared to go out into the field again this summer, with the caveats that I should stay hydrated, pay attention to my body, and keep fresh nitro pills at hand in case something goes wrong.
So I feel pretty glad about all that.
