So not much to feel glad about this year, as it's the absolute worst year on record.
I did get some good news in the mail, similar to last year. My car insurance will drop again, quite significantly as the DUI fades out of existence. July will mark three years from conviction date, and it will drop off my record completely and I should be eligible for standard rates once again. My insurance broker will make it a six month policy from January to July, and then a new one will start after July to reflect my new clean record. Clean...provided I don't do anything stupid in the next six months (ie. speeding).
It'll be great to finally be free of this as far as my driving record and insurance go. It was not worth it, and I don't recommend it to anyone. Next step is to wait until 2023 to apply for a pardon for my criminal record, then I'm truly free. I was so worried about not being able to cross the border into the US because of this, but it seems Covid has disqualified everyone so I'm not alone.
