Worked 206 hrs in the past three weeks and I am glad this week is over and Pitt is only two weeks away.

My amazing wife has just been notified that she got tenure. Unfortunately, we have to wait to celebrate, as she is in the Galapagos Islands for the next three weeks for work.

Hey, that's great, Cam! She can prop her feet up on the desk and put it on cruise control from here into retirement now, right?
I thought of your stories of her travels recently when I found an article somewhere - maybe on Digg, but gone now, if so - about how well scientists in Antarctica eat. Apparently they have a chef down there who makes really, really good meals.
From your previous humorous comments about her long absences, I imagined her eating on white tablecloths while you were home thawing out hot dogs in the sink.

Hey, I can cook just fine... if I use a cookbook.
How well people eat on Antarctica really depends on the station. The Belgian station had a legit top French chef who works at a resort on Mont Blanc for the rest of the year. The Russian station, however, they were pretty much eating dirt. The Belgian station is an anomaly. They have designer furniture and top-of-the-line everything.
