To be fair, there’s even less runoff on the outside of those double-lefts. They added a SAFER barrier there so there’s no grass. I guess the idea is to keep stray cars on the tarmac rather than letting them get a little bit wide and crashing, while the new barrier still does its job if a car gets really wide and crashes anyway. It’s an absolutely thrilling set of corners no matter which way you look at them.
The double left is also over a tunnel, meaning they can't add run-off to that section. SAFER Barriers were the only way to increase safety as the armco cannot be extended.
